• The House, The Car, The Money

I wake up in this bed of silk again but at least I’m aware of where I am. I climb out of the bed relaxed and refreshed. I’ve never felt better really. I found it more comfortable not to sleep in anything and just walked into the bathroom to take a quick shower. I had no straightener so I had to just let my wavy hair stay natural. I tried my best to style it, but to no avail. I walked over to the clothes I had laid out the night before while I was packing and slip on the lacy blue thong and matching bra along with this elegant blue dress that I absolutely adored and only wish that I could see what I looked like on me. Oh well. I pulled the suitcase from under the bed then stopped as a realization hit me.

I was in too good a mood. So many bad things had happened to me lately and I’m happy for some reason. Why am I so damn happy? I sat on the floor and pulled my feet up under me and began to think. I had been hurt so badly in so many ways, scared half to death with the fact that I’m now and forever will be a vampire, faced with the fact that I shall never see anyone that I loved ever again, and now I’m going to meet some shadow lady who will interrogate my soul. I don’t know why I’m so happy then. Maybe I had just come to terms with who I am. Or it could be the fact that I’m such an upbeat person.

Well anyways, whatever you know? Self examinations aren’t very fulfilling. I pulled the suitcase out and started to make the bed when I heard a soft tap on the door.

Crap. I’d forgotten about him. “Uh. Come in?”

Escaray walked in the door and I was taken aback by his handsomeness that I had hardly had time to take into mind. His changing eyes stared into mine and for a moment I felt a connection. Then his eyes gained confusion.

    “What?” I asked.

“It is hard to know what you are thinking when you have forbidden me to read your mind.”

    “Oh.”

“Are you ready to leave my lady?”

“Lady? When did I become that?”

“You will find soon enough.” I reached down to grab my suitcase but he was quicker and grabbed it before me. “I’ll carry this dear.”

“Oh now I’m dear. You confuse me.” He chuckled and motioned me to follow him as he walked out the door.

I followed him through many corridors and down so many stairs. “Your house is huge!”

“It is a mansion that has been in my family for many a years.”

    “Tell me about your family.”

“Well the family I speak of is the family of my sire. Kemnebi or “Black Panther” was his name. My human family has deceased….” He paused for a moment and I took the advantage to ask a question.

    “How old are you Escaray?”

“Well, June 13th will be 437 years that I have been 19.”

I was quiet as he finished his story about his family. I didn’t really seem to focus and at moments he noticed but continued anyways till we came to this huge front door. I gaped at its beauty and ancient designs.

    “Wow.” I mumbled.

“The house was built back in the 1700’s. We’ve had it restored in parts and done bits of work throughout the whole Mansion. All of my family are trillionaires.”

He opened the door and the sunlight hit me like a blinding flashlight being shined in your face. I hadn’t seen the light in a long time. I closed my eyes tight and swayed. I felt light headed and a head ache was coming over me. I gripped something hard and cold and when I tried to open my eyes all I saw was black and then that was it.
