• Prologue

"NO!" Catherine jerks out of bed. "Sigh, what a nightmare." she wipes the sweat from her forehead and moves her long raven-black hair away from her face. "Ah man, this is the third nightmare this week. If this keeps up, I might have a heart attack." She glances at the clock, "Hm, 3:17 AM. Sigh, I need to get out for awhile" She walks out of her room and heads out the door.
After a couple of hours of wandering around, she decides to turn back towards the house. For a shortcut, she goes through an ally. Suddenly someone grabs her by the arm and throws her into the wall. "Ngh, what the hell?" Catherine shouts.
A shadowed man appears. In a taunting voice he says, "Well, well. A little girl wandering alone at night. You know its dangerous at night. Especially with people like myself out." He smiled at her and revealed white, glistening fangs to her. He grabs her by the neck. "You humans are so stupid. You wander alone at night and leave yourself vulnerable to creatures who thrive on your blood. Heh heh"
Catherine struggles and says, "Please stop now! You stupid vampire and your cold-blooded violence. That will be your end."
The vampire brings his head closer to her "Oh really? Tsk, what a joke! Death is not on the cards for me today. At least not after I kill you!"
Catherine struggles to get away from him. She then pulls back from him and kicks his legs from underneath him, making him fall to the ground like a ton of bricks.
"Ugh, what the hell was that?" shouted the fallen vampire.
Catherine stands before him and suddenly her form shifts to one that is one that can make the bravest person cower. Her eyes are a red equal to the color of blood. Her long black hair gathers as a crown on her head and fangs extend from her lips.
"Wh-what the hell are you?" the wide-eyed vampire asks in fear
Catherine replies, "I am a being that can make beings like you cower in fear. I am a Crusnik. And I feed upon your blood. So do you still feel safe harming innocent lives?" She moves her right hand to the side and a dark red, two-handed sword appeared from out of thin air
The vampire wanted to run but he felt he had lost the will to move out of fear. "Agh, NO!" shouted the frightened vampire. The creature swung the sword and decapitated the frozen vampire. He falls to the ground.
Catherine stands over his dead body. Her red eyes turn back to blue. She mutters to herself, "For all you vampires have done, you shall certainly pay the price. Your cold blooded murders and even your own existence will be the end of you monsters."
