• India’s POV

I woke up the next morning and immediately jumped out of the bed excited. I went through the motions of getting ready with a joyful smile plastered on my face. It wasn’t until I had shut my bedroom door that I figured out why.
Today, according to Desthoyer, was the day that they were going to tell us who was going to fight in the war and who wouldn’t be able to.
Suddenly, anxiety replaced my joy. What if I didn’t get in? What if, for some reason unbeknown to me that didn’t think that I was qualified? I didn’t know how they judged these things.
My feet had somehow found their way to the stairs. I forced myself to calm down enough to begin walking down the stairs of fear, as I though of them. After that, my body went on automatic.
Ok India, there’s no need to worry. You are the most dedicated and one of the strongest students they have. They surly see it, so there’s absolutely no way you didn’t get in. There’s no need to psych yourself out.
When I finished with my little pep talk, I was standing in front of the gym door. I didn’t remember the walk there for which I was thankful.
There was a bright pink sign on the door. I examined it closer and then begun to read. Against my better judgment, I let my eyes scan the list.
‘All classes are canceled for today. Unless your name is on the list below, you are free for the day. If your name is on the list, please report to the outdoor training center promptly at 11:00.
    Someone I didn’t know, someone I didn’t know, Desthoyer, someone else I didn’t know, someone else I didn’t know…
There it was! My name, India, printed sixth in the line-up.
I let out a loud, high-pitched squeal and then laughed at myself. I never knew that I could sound so girly.
“I take it you got in?” a voice spoke from behind me.
I turned around to see Desthoyer leaning casually against a long white pillar and smiling at me. My eyes narrowed while my temper rose, “Why does it matter to you?” I growled.
He grinned, “Like I said India, you interest me.” He sounded genuine, but I’d had enough life experience to tell that he was lying. “By the way,” he continued, “By the way How cute, he’d even gotten the sharp ear perk, that displayed our pointy ears in all their glory, down perfectly and his 6 foot 3 body was leaning towards mine.
How gullible did he think I was?
I tried unsuccessfully to keep my tone polite, “Thanks, but no thanks. Please, don’t try to waste my time by making me into a fool,” I turned sharply and began to wander away.
His tone was upset, “Do you like being cold?”
I peered over my shoulder and sneered, “I’m not cold. I just have a low B.S. tolerance.”
I knew he was a liar, so why did I feel guilty for treating him that way?

    Melissa’s POV

“And so that concludes our meeting,” Destruction announced in his strong bold voice.
Angela, Phighter, and I glanced at each other smug. Earlier today we had planted the idea in Destruction’s head and, despite Angher's misgiving and warnings, it had now been set into motion. Tomorrow, the war would begin with a ferocity that would make Hysteria proud.
It really was a brilliant plan. It was so superb that no one but a female fairy could have come up with it.
I chuckled to myself. Everyone thought that the males were the ones that deserved honor. In reality, it was the females, whispering suggestions, using slow persuasion, and manipulating situations to their favor that had led our armies to victory multiple times.
I growled to myself. It was really annoying at times that only Phighter would acknowledge the power Angela, I, and so many other females had. After tomorrow though, the rest of the population would be forced to see how powerful our minds really could be.
