• I got back up and looked outside. It was sunset, and I wanted to go for a little nighttime stroll. I left Matt and Constantine standing around and went outside. I walked briskly around to my garden, quickly looked around, and started to head into the woods.
I stopped as I felt a tug on my jeans, and looked back. The crystal turtle was holding on tightly, its mouth clamped firmly on the fabric.
"Let go," I shook my leg but the turtle hissed and kept hanging on. "what do you want?" I growled. The turtle puffed and made an odd gurgling noise. "Yeah, I don't talk to turtles." I said in annoyance.
Why was I talking to a turtle?
I finally yanked my leg free (But ripped my jeans) and ran as he slowly chased me, leaping out of his way. I ducked into the forest and that was that. I turned into a wolf and began exploring. I sniffed some stuff, peed on a tree (Pissing off the friendly neighborhood squirrel), and chased an owl around.
I stopped as I heard a scream that made my fur stand up on end. I stupidly followed it deeper into the woods. I leaned around a tree, not long after, and saw a dead deer laying in the grass. Next to it was a monster, deep purple, almost black, with unbelievably long legs, so skinny it seemed like a miracle they didn't snap under it's weight. It was skinny, so skinny that in the thinnest part I could have wrapped my hands around it. It had a fairly long, muscular neck, covered in small black feather like appendages and a long, straight, stiff tail. It turned it's head to the side, looking around with it's small, glowing yellow pupiless eyes. It's sharp teeth interlocked perfectly together, and sharp as knives claws.
It turned to its prey, and I watched, thinking it was going to be more bloody and gory than the old N64 Doom.
Instead, it moved to the head of the deer, and opened its mouth to an extraordinary angle, grabbed the deers head ion its teeth, and proceeded to swallow it whole.
I gaped. It took it no time at all to swallow the entire deer
    Holy crap!
The part of the beast that was once the skinniest now bulged hung. It yawned, and sprawled out on the ground. I swore I could see its belly shrink every second. I began to wonder if I should kill it. Was it a threat to us? Would it come to our home and eat Skye, Brutus, me, or even Matt or Constantine?
I weighed my options and decided killing it was my best course of action. It had its eyes closed, and its black feathers down.
I stalked around, and came around the back of it, silently. i crept up to it's neck area, and reached to grab its throat.
Suddenly I felt an explosion of pain in my back, and next thing I knew I was rolling on the ground. I yelped, and looked around. The purple monster was nowhere to be seen. I looked around frantically, only hearing a hiss from god knows where. I looked behind me, and the beast stared me down with its glowing eyes.
I had been right, the monsters belly was almost back to its normal size. I wondered how long it would keep it fed,and by the looks of it, not long.
Its long mouth cracked into a grin, and it dashed forward with blinding speed. I only saw a purple-ish blur, then it rammed me in the side. I coughed loudly, getting the wind knocked out of me.
I recovered as fast as I could, and ran to the nearest tree. I made a mad leap for the branches, and scraped my way up the tree. The beast prowled below like a tiger. It occasionally looked up and hissed, and jumped at me, grabbing the branch below me in its teeth. It bit down, and the branch was sliced (Not broken, sliced ) by the monster's teeth with a terrifying sound. It fell back on its feet and resumed prowling.
Its one thing to come face to face with a monster that wants to kill you. Its another thing entirely to face a monster that will kill and eat you, or maybe skip the killing part. For the first time ver, I was trembling. Leaves fluttered from the branch I was clinging on to.
The beast grinned as it if sensed my fear. It spat at me and tried to jump at me again. It clamped the hair on the end of my tail, and ripped it out. My eyes watered and I whined. I was confined to a small limb and losing my balance quickly.
I tried to go higher to a thicker branch just above me. put my paws on it, and stretched my body and began to pull myself up.
The monster put its front feet on the tree and pushed and released, pushed and released, making the tree shake.
I frantically clawed the bark, trying to keep my balance. I tried to quickly turn into a human to grab in, but it was too late. Now I was going to fall from a tree towards my likely painful death totally defenseless. I coughed and gasped as I hit the ground.
The monster cackled with glee. It knew i was vulnerable, and took its time to stalk up to me. It whipped its tail around, and hissed, showing me its razor-sharp teeth. As it opened its maw wider, I closed my eyes, and waited. I could feel its breath on my face.
I went through all my high and low points in my life in that moment, fast but clear. I guessed I was going to Hell. I was a monster anyway, technically. I didn't see how I was going to blow away in pedals though. Or would I dissolve? Huh.
As I savored my last moments, I heard a loud and disturbing noise: Crack!
    The monster pulled away, screaming.
I opened an eye. the Crystal turtle has clamped onto the monster's ankle and crushed it in it's jaws.
The purple beast kicked at the turtle frantically with its good leg, but he held on.
I took my chance and turned into a wolf. I body slammed the beast in the chest, sending it skidding across the damp forest floor. It rumbled and spat, pulling itself up, its legs trembling with effort. I growled, ready to make my move.
The monster held it legs up like a wounded horse, holding it close to its body. It was pathetically slow without all four legs, even the turtle was keeping up with it.
It spat, hissed, and growled, eyes wide, as it backed away from me and the turtle.
The crystal turtle stopped and let me continue. I had my ears tight back, my lips pulled as far as I could get them to show my teeth, and my brow wrinkled. I continued walking towards the beast, pushing it back. It didn't see the fallen log behind it, and tripped backwards over it with a startled scream.
I leaped over the log and landed on its exposed belly. I grabbed its throat in my teeth, and ripped. The monster hissed and gurgled, as black blood sprayed from the hole.
It cackled one last time, and thumped its head down.
It slowly dissolved, and I sighed in relief. I turned to the crystal turtle, who was already trudging home.
He was trying to warn me of that monster. I realized. Smiling, but still fed up with its slow pace, I picked it up in my mouth and ran it home.
