• “Mommy, what’s going on?” I cried.
“Look baby girl, run to your room and don’t look back. Everything is gonna be alright. She tired to smile so I wouldn’t be frightened, but it didn’t work. I was completely terrified.
Then I saw my daddy come around the corner. In his hand, he clutched a metal bat. With piercing eyes, he targeted me and raised his deadly weapon. With raging power, he swung it at me but my mother pushed me out the way. She turned her head knowing she was gonna die. Tears bulged out. The strong metal bat hit her head as she gasped for air. My heart was pounding, filled with fear.
I ran upstairs and tripped on the way up. I ran to my room and hid in the closet. I tried to cover my mouth and stop my whimpering. I hear my daddy’s feet going up the stairs that make my heart sink in my chest.
The closet door is cracked open. I squeezed my teddy against my chest. I see my father walk in my room. He moves closer and closer to my closet. I see dark red blood drip down slowly from the bat on to the hard wooden floor.
“Rose, where are you?” He chuckled a dark laugh that filled the room with darkness.
