• The sounds of snoring were all that Chiaki Kurenai could here as she approached her brother's bedroom. She sighed in exasperation, this was obviously not the first time she'd had to wake him up. Without hesitation she pushed open the door and walked in.
"Hey Makoto, get up." She called.
On the other side of the room a young man rolled over in his sleep, oblivious to the attempts to wake him.
With another sigh, Chiaki walked over and flipped his mattress off of the bed. Makoto landed on the floor with a very satisfying thud. Chiaki smiled as he struggled to free himself from his covers and the mattress that pushed him into the floor.
"What gives?!" He yelled, "What was that for?"
Chiaki's smile vanished quickly as his head came into view. "I thought you might want to know that you have five minutes before we have to head for school." She said innocently before turning to leave.
Curse her He thought as he scrambled around his room. She could have woken me sooner. Makoto managed to stuff himself into his uniform and gather up his school supplies within the five minutes, but had no time for personal hygiene. With a quick sniff he decided that he didn't smell bad and left.
Chiaki was waiting for him on the sidewalk outside there home. He tossed his bag to her.
"Hold this a moment." He said and began to run a brush through his hair.
Chiaki looked on, pondering the difference between the two of them. She took after her mother with short, dark hair and a small frame. Makoto, on the other hand took after their American father. He had long, bright red hair and freckles. He was taller and stronger than she was as well, but he still managed to to look more like a girl on most days.
