• “She isn’t replying,” Alice spoke into our transmitters. “Damn, I think they broke them. Dylan’s a nervous wreck. He almost broke his computer trying to get them back online. Don’t worry, boys. We’ll get them online.”

Tyse looked at me with a worried expression on his face. “We can’t go on this mission. We got to find them.”

“I’m not so much as worried about Duncan. I’m worried about Rose. She’s there with that crazy b***h. Who hired her anyway?” I asked, irritated that they didn’t ask my opinion about hiring new operatives. I was the co-founder of TWO.

“Dylan did. Something about a relationship cut short and needed to be rebuilt again.” Alice spoke into the transmitter. “Boys, someone is listening in. s**t, they’re cutting-”

    “Alice?” asked Tyse. “Alice!”

“Alice is unavailable at the moment, Mr. Rios.” said a familiar voice. “Hello, honey. It’s nice to talk
    to you again.”

    “‘Honey’?” I repeated.

“So nice of you to recognize me. Well, I got something here for you. Scream for my baby.” she
    said.

“Elliot, Tyson, help!” Rose’s voice erupted through the transmitter.

“Rose!” I yelled. Oh my God, what the ******** is going on?!

“Rose, so that’s her name. Well, if you didn’t already know, my name is Bella. Remember Bella
    Master, Elliot?”

Bella? My crazy ex-girlfriend that almost got me killed?

“Why are you doing this, Bella?” I asked.

“You hurt me years ago, and now I’m going to hurt you.” Bella cackled.

“If you hurt her, I swear that I will kill you!”

Just then, there was a slam and then a scream. Rose! “Oops, too late. Looks like her leg just
snapped. You keep messing with me, baby, I’ll have to bury this poor girl.”

I went pale. Tyse was speechless. His only family left besides Alice was dying.

    “What do you want?”

“I want you and only you, Ellie.”

“Fine. Just . . . Leave her alone.”

“Excellent. Meet me at 211 Cherry Street inside that big warehouse. Ta-ta.”

The transmitter stopped. Alice came back. “What happened? Are you guys okay?”

I put my face in my hands. What was I going to do?

“We’re fine. But Elliot won’t be coming home tonight,” Tyse replied. I looked up at him, realizing
that tears were streaming down my cheeks. “He has a rescue mission.”

I equipped myself with my silenced pistol and that was it besides my knife that was in my jeans
pocket. I had to wear natural clothes; gray t-shirt, red hat, camo pants. I walked over to the large
warehouse and kicked the door. It opened and there was a man standing there. “This way, Mr.
    Salem. Your wife is waiting.”

    “I don’t have a wife.” I replied.

“Look, that’s how you address Bella. She is Mrs. Salem.” he told me, walking me down the hall.
He stopped at a cage and I saw her hanging on the wall, bloody and bruised.

“ROSE!” I yelled. The guy opened the door and I ran inside. The man walked away as I grabbed
her face with my hands, trying to wake her up. “Rose. Please, Rose. Wake up.”

She opened her eyes slowly. “Elliot?” she whispered.

I laughed softly. I kissed her forehead and then tried to figure out a way to get her down. “It’ll be
okay.” I said, pulling out my silenced pistol. I shot at the handcuffs and they released from the
wall. I caught Rose before she fell to the ground. “Is your leg broken?”

“No,” she replied. “Bella made it sound like that when she punched me.”

Rose looked at me, tears forming in her beautiful eyes. “Get me out of here. Please.” she said
    softly.

I nodded, picking her up. I carried her over my shoulder, making sure that my other hand was
free. The man gasped when he saw me and I capped him in the head. I walked out of the
warehouse. Tyse was outside in his car, and I put Rose in the backseat. I shut the door and
opened the passenger door. “Take her to the hospital. I have some unfinished business to deal
    with.”

I walked back inside the warehouse after he drove off. “Bella?” I called. A clapping sound came
from over head. I looked up and there she was. Brown and pink hair, brown and pink eyes. “What
    happened to you?” I asked.

“After you left, I missed you so much. Do you like it?” she batted her eyes at me.

“It’s . . . great.” I muttered. She jumped down from the balcony, which was like a five feet fall. She
walked over to me and jumped on me. I fell to the ground and she kissed me. I pushed her off and
    jumped up.

“I missed you so much.” she said, walking back over to me, slamming me into a wall. She began
to kiss me. There was a soft ping noise and then she stopped. Blood came from her stomach and
she collapsed. Rose was standing there, holding my silenced pistol that I dropped.

“b***h.” she spat. Zoë was also dead at her feet. Zoë must’ve tried to stop her when she walked
in. I smiled and sighed heavily. It was over.

    Rose collapsed to the ground.

I heard an annoying beeping and woke up. “Elliot?” I whispered. I opened my eyes and looked at my left arm. His head was resting against it. I smiled and brushed his hair with my fingers. He turned his head and woke up, smiling at me.

“Hey, kiddo,” he smiled. He took my hand in his. “How are you feeling?”

“Horrible,” I grinned. But then I frowned. “I need to talk to Alice. Alone.”

Elliot nodded then walked out of the room. I sighed and Alice walked in. She smiled when she saw me.

“I have to leave.” I blurted.

She froze, sitting down in the chair next to the bed. “What? You have to leave? What on earth does that mean?”

“It means that I’m a danger to everyone around me. Including the twins.” I felt hot tears about to
burst over the brim of my eyes. “And Elliot.”

"But he just got you back!" yelled Alice.

"I know. But I can't let him get killed."

"If you loved him, you'd stay."

"If he loved me, he'd let me go."
