• I woke up, alone. I was confused where I was. My eyes wandered the shack, and my memory was coming back to me. The room where I almost died, Demetri, the escape, and how I got here. I got up and looked for some food and the bathroom. I found the bathroom right away, the door was opened. I pondered around the kitchen and found bread and molasses. I only ate 2 pieces.
Demetri still wasn’t back, yet. I lied down on the coach, waiting for him to come back. When I got stiff, I got up and walked around the shabby shack in circles. Everything felt so lonely without him. I was looking down at the floor, when I bumped into something.
“Miss me?” Demetri asked, playfully. “Sorry, I had to leave you here all alone, but I was thirsty
and I didn’t want to accidentally kill you.” I gulped when I heard “KILL” No one hearing me scream while my blood was being sucked/
“Don’t worry, If I get to thirsty I’ll go into the woods and drink some kind of animal’s blood.” He pushed my hair out of my face. “So if I run out on you while your telling me something or your alone suddenly..I apologize.” he wanted to add something else, but I beat him to it.
    “And stay here?”
“Yes, and if you do runaway, I WILL find you,” he said now threatening. I nodded.
    “I understand.”
“You still haven’t answered my question,” Demetri stated. I was confused, what question did I miss?
“Did you miss me?” I understood now.
“Yes, I did miss you.” He was happy to hear that, there was a goofy smile on his face, nice and big. I smiled back, it was the weirdest and pleased smile, I’ve seen in years. I never knew that vampires had dimples. Neither, seen them so pleased, especially with me. A couple of seconds later his face turned serious.
“We can’t stay here long. They’ll be looking for us.” I felt sick to my stomach when he said THEY.
“Hey, you all right? You don’t look to good.” Demetri wrapped me in his arms, curled me up by using his arms. He held me tightly, covered me with his arms, like when we were walking threw the hallways of my prison.
“Katie!” he said more worried, when I didn’t say something.
“I”m fine.” I snuggled into his chest and closed my eyes, the way he wrapped me in his arms were like he was protecting from anything that might hurt me. Demetri sat on the rocking chain in the back corner of the shabby shack, and started rocking gently.
“I know this is stupid to ask, but could you please fall asleep?” he said to me. I lifted my head, and looked at him suspiciously.
He went on, “I have another safe house, but it’s two states away. So it would be easier for me if you were alsleep. I can move faster and hardly leave a trail.
“Ok,” I can’t believe that I’m gonna say this. “I trust you.”
“Thank you.” I leaned my head on him like he was a pillow.
10 minutes went by, I still wasn’t asleep.
“Katie, are you a wake?” Demetri asked to make sure I was sleep, so he could get to work.
“No,” I groaned. This did not please him, his body tightened, and he mumbled something under his breath.
“You got any sleeping meds, or something/” I asked him.
“I’ll be right back.” he laid me on he couch, and went out the window. 5 minutes later he came back, with a grocery bag in his hand.
“Try this,” the bottle landed on my arm. I gulped 2 pills down. It took a minute or two for the pills to kick in. Everything was getting fuzzy. I closed my eyes and I was unconscious.
