• A/N: Roxas and Namine one-shot. I thought I’ll make this a serious one. I decided to make it more from Namine’s pov since I know she’s locked up 24/7 so she must think a lot. I decided bittersweet would fit this pairing more since they don’t “exist” to others. Hopefully not too OC since they aren’t exactly happy here. This is how I think they would act.

    Enjoy!

    I am a witch. I am a believer. I am needed. I am an ‘existence’. I am a
    destroyer of reason.

    A marionette of the heart.

    ***
A white room. A world. A prison. A beginning. An ending.

She sat at the very center of the room, a place only a creator could have. The white walls extended to the white sky above as if it could spread out, but it felt like it was slowly descending back down to engulf and begin again.

A place that could only exist by destroying the world it creates…again and again.

Her blonde hair covered her angel like face and those broken blue eyes. She was dressed in white as her hand glided over the page to create a world of color.

A world, she thought, that she could never create for herself-a destroyer.

“Namine, you have a guest,” Diz spoke in a deep and firm voice that showed his authority. He stood in the corner beside the door with his hands clasped behind his back, his one eye watching Namine’s uneasy and guilty gaze.

The tall, white doors opened slowly, which made Diz disappear, as Roxas stepped inside. His face was stern, but his blue eyes showed determination.

“Roxas, sit down,” Namine replied in a flat tone, but her face stressed her guilt. She recovered and made her face stern like Diz. Roxas sat down quietly and stared at her demanding answers.

He gazed at her, anger and desperate, “Who’s Sora?”

“You,” Namine closed her sketchbook and placed it on the white table in front of her.

“I’m Roxas,” he replied through gritted teeth,” I’m nobody else!”

“Yes, that’s true, Roxas, but…you were never meant to exist.”

Confusion and shock crossed his features, but Namine kept her ground and continued on.

“You’re Sora’s Nobody. You have no right to exist,” Namine clutched her hands tightly under the table. These words hurt her just as much as it was hurting him, but she didn’t let it show.

He was clearly wounded and she wanted nothing more than to hug him and hold him, but that meant she would have to erase that too.

“What do you mean… a Nobody?” his face became blank as if someone had removed all his feelings.

“Nobodies don’t have ‘hearts’ so they don’t ‘exist’. Without a ‘heart’ they are just lifeless souls. Puppets.”

They sat in silence for a long time. Namine didn’t want to do this. She hated acting like this, being harsh, but she had too. For Roxas’ sake.

“What…are you?” He looked at her, disbelief and defeat in his eyes. His face became like that of a child in pain, a pain he shouldn’t have to feel or understand.

“A witch,” she smiled, but through gritted teeth.

“What do you do then, huh? Ruin lives?” his tone was cutting, like broken glass that slashed at her heart. She didn’t blame him.

“ I create ‘memories’ and ‘feelings’ into a ‘heart’.

“You just told me I didn’t have a heart, but now I do?! Are saying everything and everyone,” he closed his eyes and his voice became distance,” that I know is fake…?”

“Yes and no,” she opened her sketchbook placed before her, drawings that she had created.

“Stop that,” he snapped, his face annoyed and fierce.

She looked up through her bangs and smiled,” I can only influence ‘feelings’ and ‘memeroies’, Roxas. It’s up to the ‘heart’ to accept it or not.”

His face became like stone, but she ignored it and continued,” So, you do create your own ‘memories’ in a way by deciding what ‘feelings’ you want. Loneliness, acceptance, anger, happiness.

“However, Roxas, that doesn’t mean we can’t change that. I can change ‘feelings’ by creating or destroying certain ‘memories’.”

Roxas sat still, no emotion on his face. His voice was monotone, but stern, “So by taking away our feelings and changing them you create a different heart, a Nobody, because we have no right to our own feelings.”

“…Yes,” she was quiet, her head down.

    “I don’t agree with you.”

Namine jerked her head up in surprise at his statement,” What?!” She stared at him in disbelief.

“I don’t agree with you. A heart’s a heart, real or fake. You can mess with it as much as you want and try to control it, but you can’t make someone feel something that isn’t true.”

She gaped at him. A part of her jumped for joy at his words feeling hopeful, that they were true. Yet she couldn’t help, but feel stupid. He couldn’t change the fact he was a Nobody and she couldn’t either.

“Namine, that’s enough!” Diz appeared out of a black portal and yanked her out of her seat,” It’s time to go! You’ve done too much.” He gave her that knowing look and despair rushed through her. She would have to erase his memories of her. She didn’t want that, not at all.

“Roxas! Just remember,” Diz tried to cover her mouth, but failed,” next time we meet we may not recognize each other, but we’ll meet again. Someday!”

“Namine!” Roxas reached out and she touched his hand for a brief second and she caught a glimpse of his heart-his true heart. He didn’t hate her! She saw his memories of her, not ones she placed, but his. His very own.

She smiled and felt tears fall as she was pulled farther into the darkness. He was right- others can’t control a heart completely because the heart is something only you can create for yourself –

    Nobody else can.

Her tears fell harder, but she was hopeful now. Even though she had to erase the memories of her today his heart would still remember her, feel her.

In that lonely white room she told herself over and over that she shouldn’t exist here, ever.

    And she was right.

She didn’t deserve to exist in that room- she only needed to exist in the one place that mattered most.

    Roxas’ heart.
