• Zane woke up, his eyes still heavy from weariness. Zane felt a strange feeling in his head and stomach. He couldn't quite place it. Then he started to freak out. He quickly got up, checked for his sword, quite a big, shiny one at that, named Frenzy. His sword was there, he still had all his clothing and possessions, but there was one tiny problem. He had no memory of anything that happened before he woke up. All he knew was his and his sword's name, and that was it. Who am I? Zane thought. A killer? A poor man? A wealthy ruler? A normal peasant?
Zane stood against the old, sturdy, tree he appeared to have slept next to. He picked up Frenzy and put it on his back. He decided he better find a town, fast. He didn't have any food or water, and if he knew how to get some before, he didn't remember now. This just doesn't make any sense... Zane thought to himself. It's all a black fuzz...
He began walking, with his back to the tree. He was tired, and wanted to sleep some more, but was afraid of anything else happening in these woods. He walked and walked for what seemed like hours, and he could see the sky go red as the sun set. "Who goes there?" Demanded someone in front of him. "What? Huh? Where am I?" Zane looked up and saw two armed guards in front of a gate, the taller one pointing at him. "This is Minowa. A small farming town. What's your business here?" The tall guard stepped forward while talking to him. "I...I don't know. I just need to find an inn to stay at, I won't cause any trouble." Said Zane innocently. "Alright. Let him through!" The guard yelled to the other guard, who already seemed prepared to open it. The guard didn't say another word once the gate opened, so Zane walked into the town. There were a few houses with large farms and mills, Moongate Inn was on the right, and straight ahead was a blacksmith's and an armorer. He wasn't kidding when he said it was small. Zane thought. He walked into Moongate Inn, and walked up to what appeared to be the front desk, but looked more like a bar. There were happy drunks and some women dancing for the men. Zane asked the man at the desk, "How much for a night?" The man looked up. He had a big nose and squinty eyes, with curly red hair and a square face. He was wearing a dirty white shirt with a green vest and some pants. "Ten Gold and the room's yours." Zane took ten gold out of his pocket and gave it to the man. "It's upstairs, second door to the right. Thanks." The man said gruffly. The man handed him a key, and Zane walked upstairs to his room and opened the door. It smelled musty, but it would do, it's only for a night anyway. He locked the door behind him and put his sword and heavier armor on the chest at the foot of the bed. He took the key and set it on the tend table next to the right side of the bed. He then spread out on the bed, making himself comfortable. He fell asleep as soon as he put his head down.
Zane opened his eyes. All he could see was never-ending darkness. He heard a voice, extremely faint, repeating something, louder each time. "Darkness will fall upon you... Your fate is inevitable..." The strange voice said. A face flashed in the space before him, but it was blurred, and Zane couldn't make it out. "Your rememberance will be the end..." The voice said again. The face flashed again, this time it was a girl, early twenties it looked like, dark blue hair, green, piercing eyes, and she seemed to be saying something, but Zan couldn't hear it.
Zane snapped up, gasping for air. He felt hot, and cold at the same time, but hot like anger, and cold like death. He felt something clenched in his hand, so he opened his fist. A necklace with a diamond shaped black pendant sat there. He looked at it, hungry for power, then fell asleep again...
