• Romulus was a quiet, creative and above all, kind fellow of many friends.
He was a well-known and respected member of his community for some time.
He had a loving family, and he loved them back. Everything about him was considered 'good'. But then, accidents started happening everywhere he went.
People began losing their trust in Romulus, and he was ashamed because of this, heartbroken even. Most people fear, or even accuse poor Romulus of all their ailments. He willingly accepts the blame for any problem he might- or might not have- caused. In fact, one day, someone began spreading rumors that if he was locked away, maybe the people would stop suffering completely.
It took some time, but soon, people began a search for Romulus, and it was not long until he was found, tried, and convicted of every crime anyone could think of. In fact, some neighborhood children even made games of trying to think of crimes to convict Romulus with. No one stood by him, not even his family, for, they had all died of accidents he was charged with. Romulus has been kept away from the rest of the world. Well, up until now of course.

Romulus felt a sharp sting in his right eye, and awoke with a jolt. Eye still searing under his hand, he looked around for something to help, but all he could see was grass that seemed to touch the clouds above. He then stood and found himself in a tall field, the longest he'd ever been in. It strectched all the way to the horizon, as if wanting to feel the caress of the clouds.
After some measure of time spent walking, Romulus felt the sting in his eye dull. Soon, he could see perfectly out his right eye, keeping it all the way open.
After the searing pain had gone, Romulus was hit by a rather unfathomable amount of memories of his capture, but nothing of his escape, if he'd made one at all.
With his head craning in all directions, he'd finally made sense of a small village on the horizon. Romulus felt as though he could fall down and kiss the ground under his feet. When he'd finally reached the small village, he was greeted with gasps and glares. Why, he did not know. He finally reached a small building on the other side of the village with a sign reading, 'Analog Inn'.
He stepped inside, greeted only with a new set of glares and growls. When, after some length of time he could only describe as a couple hours, that he reached the main counter, he tried to greet the worker, only to be silenced by a deafening scream.
Within moments, Romulus was being seized by many hands, being restrained and dragged off to a cart. He tried to yell, but no sound escaped his lips. Within moments, a tall man said after placing him in the back of the cart said, "You are wanted by His Majesty. We are taking you on an hour long voyage to his residence.", and Romulus tried to ask why, but again, he could make no sound. He needed water, but he was too exhausted to ask for some.
Within seconds, he could feel his head hit the bottom of the unforgiving wood, and just as soon as it had, he closed his eyes and drifted in an uncomfortable sleep.
Within what the promised hour, he had reached the King's residence. It was, as he expected, a glistening castle, built on the edge of a mountain. The location only made the castle more stunning, with the sound of waves crashing into the mountainside, the calling of birds. Perhaps it might've been better to appreciate if he were not captive. And before Romulus knew it, he was inside the gleaming castle, certainly fit for a King, no less.
To his surpise, was greeted not with fierce expressions, but those of joy, and please yelps were let out the moment he'd set foot in the dining hall. And before he could realise it, an embrace for a rather large man, who laughed heartily and Romulus' expression. "Welcome, Romulus. You were chosen to be my heir. We have much to discuss, but I'm afraid that will wait until tomarrow, as you look a fright." Romulus could feel a welcoming arm on his should lead him down the corridor and up a spiral staircase to a room containing gleaming dressers and other furniture, along with a grand bed that might've been the size of a cottage. In moments, he could feel himself drifting into a deep, welcoming sleep.
