• I ran down to my neighbor’s house with my costume billowing behind me. I saw the jack-o-lanterns smiling up at me as I knocked on the door. Frankenstein opened the door and let me in. As I entered the living room a little witch scampered up to me. “A farie how original,” she said as she pulled my wings. I sprayed her with farie dust, and she batted me with her wand. We walked outside together towards the music and the dancing. We danced around together seeing princesses and cartoon characters, vampires and werewolves. As the moon rose higher, Frankenstein climbed onto the stage, “I will now announce the nominees for best dressed.” The little witch whispered a good luck to me when I was called. I climbed the stage nervous; I saw there was already a princess in a blue dress and what looked like a vampire and her victim in medieval garb. I looked at my black mini-dress, dark blue tights and I tugged at my wings. Then I thought if people down there didn’t like my costume, why am I up here. I smiled when Frankenstein said “and the winner is Midnight the Farie.” I took my candy bar prize and walked to the edge of the stage and jumped. I ran over to my little witch, “Told you your costume was good,” she said. Then she tried to take my candy, I snatched it back and laughed. After the party when I was walking back home, I smiled. It was a terrific party.
