• “You are everything I wanted, but nothing I expected” The words where muffled as she softly kissed him, he chuckled as she kissed him again below the ear. Her fingers interlaced with his golden hair, it was like a halo in the sun.
“How so” he asked her the rumble in his chest comforted her as she stroked his brow, laying her ear to his chest to hear him breathing, his hand resting on the small of her back. Thinking as she twirled the ring on her finger, she wanted the sun to rise so that she would be able to see how it shone in the light.
“Its silly actually” another soft chuckle deep in his chest rumbled against her ear. “I was torn between to guys when I was younger, the guy I couldn’t have and the guy I thought I wanted.” Sitting up straight she looked into his eyes to see how he would respond. “I was convinced that I was in LOVE with a guy that I would never have. He was nothing like you, his coarse red hair dark coffee brown eyes. He was a redneck before it was cool, a true southern boy. He was an Eagle Scout, he danced, skateboarded, and played with fire. He loved to be outside, and I loved to be with him. His sister was my best friend, and as a result I saw him often and everyone knew I liked him. I tried very hard not to like him because of it.” She sighed as he looked at her puzzled. It was her turn to laugh as she thought of how she had thought of him.
He had a mischievous look as he spoke. “Well if it helps at all I was in Boy Scouts for three years” Leaning in he caught her hair and buried his face into it finding her neck and giving her a small kiss. “And what about this guy you thought you wanted?”
“He was the opposite of the first guy, tall, hazel eyes and dark curly hair. He could write wonderful stories, play the piano, and drums. In my eyes he was the bad boy, he had trouble with his family. He loved to have a good time and joke around all the time. I always thought I wanted to be with him but when it came down to it I could never quite take the leap.” The sun was just rising, outside the window the world was painted in grey tones. She loved watching the sun rise with him, to feel that she had him completely to herself, that the world was putting on a show for just the two of them. “Now I feel foolish for telling you this.”
He gazed out the window again as oranges began to appear on the hill tops. “I don’t see how I am completely different from how you describe the two of them.” He scratched her back and then got up from the bed and opens the curtains before returning.
“The difference is that I love you, and unlike them I will never stop”
