• Chapter 9
    Five hundred of Demogorgon's troops attacked Ruku. They circled around him and then fell on him. Ruku kept his katana in his sheath on his left hip, but he kept his right hand on it. When they were in reach, he drew and spun in circle, felling the first wave. Then he took the offensive and ran through them slashing as many of them as possible. When he made it out of the horde he turned, gathered all his energy, and launched a Solar Flare. This incirerated half of the remaining troops, leaving one hundred and twenty three. They charged. Ruku ran away from them; he would be overwhelmed. He entered into a narrow valley and stood there for his final fight. He fought them one on one due to closeness of the wall. He then recieved a nasty surprise when one of the Officers jumped off one of the other troops and was behind Ruku. By the time he turned, Ruku's chest was impaled with a pike. He fell on his kness and was stabbed thrice more. He died. "Ruku, you suck man!" shouted Zorion from the control booth. He clicked a button and the training room erased the valley and all the soldiers. Ruku got up and shouted back, " Why would you program level eight with five hundred elite troops if you can't even pass it?!?" Zorion laughed and so did Ruku. It was now the ninth month of the seventeenth era. In other worlds it would be, September 2178. Two months, the group had gone underground. Demogorgon was hunting them down and they couldn't defeat him in their current. For the past two months they have been training. Ruku and Zorion with the Simulator; Kayame and Amy, sparring. They were getting better, there was no doubt of that in Ruku's mind, but were they strong enough? That was just the question wasn't it? They had no idea of Demogorgon's true power; Ruku just had a small sampling of Demogorgon's power and he had been hospitalized only due to Zorion's and Kayame's intervention. Over dinner, the Dragons (as they were now ironically calling their motley crew) had discussed Demogorgon's rapid ascent to power. Zorion had figured out how he did it. The others scolded themselves. It was so simple. He had been the leader of the failed rebellion that had occured four years back; they had all been seventeen, with the exception of nineteen year old Zorion. When the rebellion, Demogorgon had dissappered, making people believe he was dead. He then reemerged four years later, posing as the old, frail monk. He had started a new rebellion with the same reason for the old; a corrupt government had to be destroyed and replaced with a kind one. The Dragons knew this was complete bull, but all the others followed him willingly, as one would follow a disguised Antichrist. Demogorgon wanted power, but that wasn't the full reasoning behind his assume of command. It was Chernobog who made him do it so. Chernobog had been the sealed Dragon inside the D'anillo del Dragon. The translation was wrong; it wasn't "the dark ring of the Dragon," it was "the ring of the Dark Dragon." Chernobog had been trapped inside the ring until his release after Demogorgon's first trial with the ring. Demogorgon may have believed he was in control, but that man had a Dragon on his back, to skew the saying. The deadly duo had to be stopped. And as if to make matters worse, Alucard had jumped behind Demogorgon. He knew the truth just like the Dragons did, but that had been his whole reason for joining. Raka and Konata had a common goal; to kill their siblings. And since Alucard joined, so did this deadly alliance.The army got bigger and more powerful with each passing day. If the Dragons were going to bring Demogorgon down, they needed an army of their own. But first, this group needed to unite. They had their own separate agendas and reasons for tackling Demogorgon. Ruku wanted revenge for his humliation, Zorion wanted to become the strongest warrior, and Kayame wanted the throne for herself. Only Amy had perhaps the best reason for chasing Demogorgon. She saw true evil in that man and wanted to stop him before he infected the world. Now the Dragons had to create their own propaganda for their army. Ruku and Zorion walked up the stairs from the basement to the the Grand Hall. Their base of operations was Ruku's home, Chateu Sangre. It was "inherited" from Alucard, so in other words, Ruku stole his keys for the mansion. It was three stories with a basement and an attic. It was located up high in the woods overlooking the city of Laguna, and the woods were never searched for them due to the citizens' persistent superstition that the woods were haunted and were full of monsters. Though Demogorgon laughed at this, Alucard and his children knew the truth. Alucard and Raka would feed on any stray human who entered their woods. Ruku had never drank human blood, he could at least say that he was much more human than either his father or sister. He never had the unndying thirst that the rest of his family was afflicted with, since he was a half breed and if he ever needed to drink blood, which was rare, he would steal synthetic blood. As for the monsters the citizens claimed to exist, Ruku had never seen one, but he didn't doubt it. At night, he was sure he heard strange animal cries that were foreign to him, despite the fact that he traveled the world. He could only imagine that nightmarish creatures,drooling green saliva and baring their razor sharp fangs, surrounding Chateu Sangre at night, drawn to the only light source in the dark, forasken forest. Ruku went to the kitchen to find Amy asleep, head on the table. He smiled to himself at the fact that she had fallen asleep on "A History of Dragon Lord Zeko and His Legacy." Amy had stayed up all night researching the rebellion, again. He picked her up, arm under her leg and hand around her waist with her head on his shoulder. They walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs to the second room on the left. Funnily enough, Amy's room was next to Ruku's study/room which he always kept locked. Her door was ajar, so Ruku just walked in and layed her down on her bed. He then walked out and went back to the kitchen. He then opened the fridge and frowned. Shoot, we're already out of food. Then another voice came into Ruku's head. Well, bucko, don't forget, you used to be just a party of uno. "Shut up," Ruku said in a whisper. He walked over to the drawer and pulled out a yellow notepad and a pen. He started writing down a grocery list when Kayame walked in. "Good morning, Kaya-" Ruku said as he looked up. He blushed violently. Kayame was rubbing sleep from her eyes in only sweats and her bra. When she realized Ruku was in the kitchen, she screamed and put her arms over her chest. "GET OUT!!!" she screamed. Ruku was more than willingly to. He ran out and closed the door. "God, you're such a pervert!" Ruku grew angry at this. "Who walks around in her bra!?!" Kayame screamed an endless string of profanities. Ruku scoffed at her being angry about something she did. He walked outside with Amy's keys in his pocket. He walked over to her car and got in. He had no license, but he still knew how to drive. As he drove to town, a cop turned his lights on. "Crud," Ruku said to himself and pulled over. The cop got out of his car, his partner was in the car. When the officer was near, Ruku opened the back door behind him and hit him with it. The officer,surprised, crumpled to the floor. He got back up just to be kicked back down by Ruku. His partner jumped out of the car with her pistol drawn. She shot at Ruku, who saw it coming out of the corner of his eyes. He swatted the bullet before it could hit him. She was left speechless. He ran towards her as she shot multiple times, all but one missing. The one that hadn't miss shatterd his left shoulder. He swore but kept going. When he was in range, he jumped and spun in the air and spin kicked her. She fell to the floor and her gun fell from her. The other officer got up and ran back to the car. Ruku hadn't seen him until he shouted,"Freeze!" He turned to see a shotgun pointed at him. "Now, put your hands on your head!" Ruku raised his hands, but he kicked the fallen officer's pistol into the air and caught it. Before the cop could react, Ruku shot the pistol. Red blossomed on his chest and he fell on his back, eyes glazing. Ruku sighed. Such unecessary blood shed. But it was necessary. There's a warrant out for you and the rest of the Dragons. Nonetheless, Ruku shook off this rationalization. He respected cops, yet here he was, one cop dead, the other knocked out. He knelt next to the female officer and examined her face where he kicked her. The mark could be mistaken for the butt of a shotgun. Sorry to spoil your name, pal, but either you assualted your partner or your partner murdered you. He put the pistol near the female officer's outstretched hand. She began to stir. "Ow. My head," she said grogily cradling her head. She looked up at Ruku. "What happended?" Ruku then explained. "You pulled me over and you got out of your car with your pistol drawn. Your partner got out with the shotgun and walked right behind you. He lifted it and I shouted at you to watch out. You turned and he hit you with the butt. Just before you hit the ground, you shot him. I'm pretty sure he's dead." The female officer's eyes began to welled up with tears. "What? I-I-I ki-ki-kiled E-E-Eddie?" Ruku felt guilty, but he had to continue this charade. "Yes. But remember you did after he hit you. And I'm sure you had no intention to kill him. You just shot and Eddie was in the wrong position. I'm sorry. The ambulance is on its way." She got up and walked over to Eddie and knelt. She tried to keep her composure, but started to cry on his chest. "I-I-I kn-kn-knew h-he ha-ha-had men-men-mental p-p-problems b-but t-to d-do t-this....." she said in between sobs. Ruku looked down, shame creeping over him. He walked back to Amy's car and drove away, leaving her to grieve for her best friend's death which had been brought about by her.
