• Ian Dosu sat alone in the shadows of a cave hidden from the world around it. In his ice cold hands sat a daimond ring that was meant for Lilly Blaze. Ian cherished Lilly with all his still heart. He loved her, protected her, worshipped the ground she walked on. However, Lilly was taken from him, just like his former love many years before her.
    Ian plays around with the diamond ring he wanted so much to give to Lilly. He couldn't bring himself to throw it away or to give to a jeweler. No. That is a sign of a cold heart, a dead heart, Ian thought. How could Ian possibly let go of what he could have had? He can't throw away the love he shared with Lilly. He can't give up what could have been. Ian began to tremble, remembering that fatefull day.

    ~~~~~~~~~
    Ian and Lilly had dated for nearly four years before Ian managed to gather the guts to by that pretty little ring shinning in the display case of the jewlery shop. Lilly was with her sister Alison. Alison was to be married soon and was looking for her wedding dress. What a better chance to get the ring for Lilly than now? Ian smiled.
    "Whatcha up to Ian?" Lilly's twin brother said from behind him. When Ian turned around Kane was holding the tiny little ring he had just bought. "Are you going to propose to my sister?" Ian snatched the ring back.
    "Yes. I am." Kane's face lit up.
    "Oh wow, two weddings back to back." Kane clapped. "You want me to do it for you? If memory serves correct you never proposed before... not even to An..."
    "I know Kane, I had that fact pushed to the farthest corner of my mind and you dug it up for me. Thank you little Blaze." Ian sourly grumbled.
    "Anytime.... Brother." Kane snickered and took off before Ian could smack him. That didn't help his nerves out at all. Though Ian was nearly 500 years old, twenty of those miserable years were with Anna, a werewolf. He loved Anna, but never had the guts to move forward, then she died. Ian wasn't about to make that mistake again. He felt as if it was too soon though, like he should wait longer. Of course, being immortal meant that you had all the time in the world to burn. Lilly wasn't immortal, she was human. She didn't have all the time that Ian did. Ian began to smile, maybe Lilly was waiting for him to ask her.
    Ian was walking away from Aladar, looking for his favorite spot in the world. It was where he first had a real conversation with Lilly. One that didn't involve pain, misery, sorrow or suffering on his part. Ian had asked Lilly to meet him here after she was done shopping with Alison. After a couple hours of waiting Ian decided to roam around. The atmosphere became heavy with fear and agony. Ian tensed and jerked around, the scent of Lilly's blood filled the air. Ian ran back to the spot he was earlier and slammed a young man's face against the rocks. The man only laughed out.
    "You're late vampire." He giggled insanely. A demonic growl errupted from Ian's vocal cords as he rip the man's throat apart. "You think that can kill me? I'm the devil's child. I can come back from the depths of hell if I please!" His voice barked and faded away with the wind. Ian felt sick as he turned around to face Lilly, who was on the ground. Her stomach and chest were cut open.
    "Lilly!" Ian gently picked her up and held her. "Lilly, please tell me this looks worse than it is." Ian began to panic. Lilly opened her eyes and looked up at him.
    "Kane told me about the ring." She smiled.
    "I'm so sorry I waited so long." Ian held her closer to him. "I really wanted..." If Ian could shed tears, he would be drowning in them.
    "I love you." Lilly whispered. Ian almost responded, till he noticed her heart stopped beating.
    "Lilly?" Silence. "LILLY!" Ian trembled.
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    "LILLY~!" Ian screamed and began to throw a fit. Punching stones, kicking the wall. He wanted the cave to collapse on top of him, he wanted to his body crushed, or be burried alive till he finally died to thirst. Ian never wanted to leave this world so badly in all his 500 years of immortality. Ian finally collapsed to the ground, facing the cave mouth. The cave was crumbling all around him. He heard footsteps approaching the cave. They stuck out to him, louder than the falling rocks.
    "Ian?" A gentle face appeared and gazed upon him. Ian couldn't believe his eyes.
    "Lilly?" A stray rock fell and cut the girl's cheeck. The beautiful aroma of Lilly's blood attacked his sense of smell. "Lilly!" Ian lunged for the cave opening. He was almost to that gentle light from Lilly's pure soul that radiated from her. Darkness.
    Lilly stood in shock, the large boulder had crushed his body. The only thing that could be seen of him was his left hand. The tiny ring glistened in the sunlight. Lilly fell to her knees and gently placed her hand on top of his and held it gently in hers. The fingers slowly began to grip her tiny hand but stopped halfway. Tears blurred her vision as she slipped the ring off his finger and put it on. She couldn't bring herself to leave it there. How could she possibly walk away from the love she shared with Ian?
    "Lilly. I love you." The wind whispered to her before Ian forever left her to live her new immortal life. She was resurected to the life of the immortals, so she could live for eternity with Ian. Now he was gone, forever out of her reach.
