• Long ago in 1958, six year old Annabelle Leary was using the bathroom, the downstairs one. She remembered what her mother always said about washing her hands. So that's she was doing when it happened. There was no one in the house but her. She was an only child and she just got home from Elementary School. Her parents were still at work on a business trip. The nanny wasn't supposed to come till later so little Annabelle was all alone.

Suddenly, the door slammed shut and Annabelle let out a scream and then bolted for the door. But the door would not budge. She was so much filled with fright that she fainted right then and there on the downstairs bathroom floor. She was so scared about the door slamming that she didn't realize that she had left the faucet running at full blast.

The strange thing about all of this was that somebody who was pretending to sound like Annabelle's father over the phone, gave the nanny a call and told her not to come that week for Annabelle would no longer be there. Of course, the nanny merely thought that her "father" meant that they were moving or that they finally decided to take Annabelle with them on their business trip. But the mysterious person really meant that the girl would no longer be with us in the land of the living. When her parents returned only a few days later, they found their daughter's dead body just laying there lifelessly on the downstairs bathroom floor. Horrified at what they saw, they finally took in this big mysterious whooshing sound. They followed the sound by their ears and turned to it, discovering that the faucet was in fact still running full blast......
