• "Bones!" I whined, the young CMO carrying me over his shoulder. I swear, if I ever get to beat him in anything I know well how to do, I'm taking the chance to do it! I was placed down on the floor of the excercise room and I sighed.
"If ya wanted to go against me, I would've said yes, Bones." Oh goodie, a chance to actually kick his butt in martial arts! A wooden Japanese Bokken sword was tossed at me, and I caught it expertly going into a fighting stance.
"I want you to teach me." Bones said softly. I smiled, how could I resist a chance to show him how painful it it to learn Kendo? Not a penny could back me down from this.
"Alright, your funeral." He opened his mouth to ask what I meant when I lunged and struck out at his open right side. He instinctively brought the Bokken sword up and slammed my sword away. I continued the attack, swinging around to dive under his arm and swat his back hard. He grunted, and faltered. That's all I needed to swiftly kick his foot from under him and watch him collide in a heap on the ground.
"Don't let me be misunderstood when I say this is going to be a long weekend." I picked his chin up with the edge of my Bokken, my eyes quickly darting every second, watching his sword hand. Suddenly, Bones pulled my Bokken forward and I fell on his lap with a surprised squeak. He smirked.
"Yer right, it's gunna be a very long weekend of training and other small things, such as rewards for me beating your butt right here, right now.
"You're on! One square round against me. If I win, you owe me lunch tomorrow and dinner later. If you win, you can choose the reward. Before we begin, what is the reward if you win?" I asked, getting up and pulling him with me.
"A kiss from the lovely lady." I blushed. No one had better have told him of my crush on his. Even as a Science officer, I could still see him after twelve o' clock in the afternoon, when my shift ends on the bridge, or when he comes up to check on the recently broken-legged Navigations officer, Chekov.
"Fine." I stood in a different position, with the hilt of my sword and my hands next to the side of my head, my legs separated, and my knees slightly bent. Bones took my recent position. He blinked, I lunged. He cried out and went to block, but I was going to get hit in the head if I didn't block. Bones realized this and caught my waist before I could get hit. I froze in his one arm, tensing.
"Sorry. Can we try that again?" Bones asked breathlessly. He released my waist, even though I could tell he didn't want to.
"Yes. Position. Ichi, ni, san!" I cried out and lunged. This time, Bones was ready. He spun, dodging my attack, and made a slice to my side. I fell to the ground instead of him, defeated.
"You...win...Bones..." I breathed. He fell to his knees beside me, breathing just as hard as me, and hovered over me.
"I...love...you...Serenity..." Bones whispered with each breath. I blushed and my eyes widened as he moved in for the kill. Our lips touched and an insane spark lit up my mind. Whoa, I really do love him! I closed my eyes and kissed back, pulling him closer as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt him smile, happy as ever.
