• The one called Meredith
    Book two of Geekline

    Author‘s Note:

    This story is after the my first story…The one Called Maruduk. This is insight on Meredith’s point of view for the upcoming events. Remember T.O.C.Ma is #1 T.O.C.Me is # 2. Therefore it is better if you have read “The One Called Maruduk” first, then have read this, so you (The reader/Critic) can have the full knowledge that you need for this second installment. This is not copywriten in any form…unless I used some labels or Names. But this is completely 100% my story from my head! No one is to copy this into there own format! Unless you have my consent. That said, I hope you enjoy the Geekline series.
    And may you learn from this, as I have from my life…

    Sincerely,

    P.S because it was hard and a bit weird to be thinking in a girls point of view I had help from my friend Naruta. She's been a major help and motivation for the story.

    Chapter one: {Maruduk Grayson}

    Looking at Meredith’s face was A sight I never got used to…so holding her hand at my permanent school was something I should have never known…but it was the best time my life could ever treasure. Eating lunch together…finishing assignments at the exact same time, (Not planned of course, just a coincidence.)and living together was almost paradise in the making…
    It was the Step-Brother/Sister hump that made things go no further than that. Ever since Mom and Bruce got married about 2 years ago we (Meredith and I) decided not to let our relationship interfere with our parents…plus…that was just weird…
    But…being 15 at this age in time made us a lot more responsible. And gave us a lot more freedom.
    Meredith wanted us to be a secret from mom and dad. So we went to the movies, saw a couple of chick flicks, and walked back home…

    Today had the smell of something change in the air…I saw the usual white haired angel in the top bunk above me, without a single snore, sleeping the day away…I couldn’t sleep. Everyday I wanted more than ever to kiss Merry…I just couldn’t sum up the courage…today however…it was more like a need. Like eating and drinking, It was something I hungered for…I looked at our new room and knew that would probably never happen at this point…our room was full of things…a 20 inch flat screen, a huge table for working on projects, a lot of posters of anime alongside posters of Einstein, and our cork board our parents built us.
    I had to sigh. With summer vacation coming up and our birthdays only a week away (Merry and my birthdays were, coincidently only two days apart) I wondered how we would spend vacation…

    I didn’t imagine something like this. Mom and Dad were packing…but Merry and I just stared with the same expression.
    “You’re going to be gone…HOW LONG?” I asked with Drama…
    “It’s a business trip Mar. We don’t have a choice. We need money to eat and to keep this house. Plus this is a major event. Sorry kiddo. It’s going to be you and your sis for summer vacation.” Bruce said with the sadness clearly in his voice and movements.
    “But…But…what about our Family vacation?” Merry asked. She was still in her PJ’s…but she still ended up looking like a goddess to me. Even with Betty Boop Staring at me.
    “We’re going to have to Rain check Sweetie.” My mom answered, placing her briefcase on the table. It looked very heavy. I didn’t think she could cram anything else into it.
    “But mom…what are we going to do?” I asked.
    “You and Merry will think of something.”
    Then mom and dad said a brief good bye…and they were gone in a flash of cabbie smoke…
    We couldn’t believe it…we were alone…for 2 months…all of summer vacation…
    It wasn’t the fact that we didn’t have any money…or enough money for that matter…it was that fact…that…we were together…alone…and things were going to get complicated…

    At school, news spread like wildfire. The facts of us being alone, our parents gone all summer…everything. And people were freaking out.
    At school today it was like every thing, slowed down. The teachers didn’t care anymore. So they just popped in Twilight into the DVD projector and let us just enjoy the day.
    Ironically, Merry and I both got the same impression of the story. Or…I think she did…
    What is going on in her head…?

    {Meredith Boviardy}
    What is going on in my head! I can’t stop thinking about Maruduk…no matter how much I try I can’t help but think of us…of how we can’t be…and this movie isn’t helping!
    “Merry? Are you ok?” Maruduk asked me. Concerned with my state of emotion.
    “I’m fine…it’s just…Mar…we have to think of something.”
    He nodded. He knew what I was talking about.
    But he had a point in his statement, “But Mom and Dad don’t know yet. If they all of a sudden find out that we’re kissing in the living room, because they came back early, we don’t know what they’ll think.”
    I “thunked” my head onto the table.
    Why…why does god punish me so…
    “Merry…”
    “Mar…I’m sorry…it’s just…” I looked up…and my lips were held by his finger.
    “No…no being sorry. It wasn’t your fault. You don’t apologize for anything; you here?”
    I nodded. How could I not listen to his voice. Holding my emotions back from his was…is the hardest task I’ve ever had. My original plan was to keep him and I in check by withholding our thoughts and what we say to each other…but it backfired instantly.
    My head was bursting from not saying “I love you.” every thirty seconds.
    My heart was ripping every time I saw his face. And when we were alone…It killed the both of us.

    Like tonight for instance, we watched Wanted on our Blu-ray player, said our goodnights…and went to bed in separate rooms. I suggested we sleep in our usual room…but he had too much pain in his eyes for me to argue. So…he slept on the sofa.
    My dreams failed to give me peace of mind. It was either me and Mar kissing all night…or…the other act of love. It was usually so vivid and context that I woke up every night just to see if I was making any noise. I even placed a recorder at my pillow the weekend into summer vacation. My results weren’t satisfactory…but they weren’t audible to anyone else either. And that was a relief.

    This morning I woke to the sound of a sizzle. Sounded like bacon…
    When I went down to see what was going on, low and behold! Maruduk was making bacon sizzle on a pan. Wait…Maruduk is doing what?
    “What are you doing?” I asked him. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, to no success.
    “Making breakfast. Why do you ask?” He said, not bothering to look at me.
    “Because you’ve never made breakfast before.”
    “I’ve never gotten the chance to show you.” He said, then he looked and smiled at me.
    I froze…I had to use all my focus on not kissing him right now, this very moment.
    Looking at him, just standing there with that smile made me want to run to him and just wrap myself around him. It was the hardest thing to hold in.
    "Maruduk, I understand that you're making it but how come? Is there a special occasion I should know about?" I asked, giving him my famous look.
    "Nothing Merry, I just decided to cook today." Was his answer.
    "Well do you want me to help?"
    "No it's fine. I'm almost done anyways."
    I shrugged and sat at the table, humming softly and letting the smell of bacon drift into my nose. I'd checked the tape recorder this morning and found that it was louder than most, so I really hoped he hadn't heard anything. I dare not call my dreams stupid because deep inside, I didn't want them to end. Thinking so hard about it made me wonder if Mar had the same dreams.
    "Earth to Mer." I heard him say.
    "Wha-?" I answered, coming out of my thoughts, causing the small thought wrinkles to fade.
    "I said 'Breakfast is served.' You feelin' okay?" He asked, putting his hand on my head.
    I wanted to throw myself onto him and kiss him again. His hand felt so nice and warm, it was something I really needed. I looked down at the food, taking in it's delicious aroma once again.
    "Thanks Mar, it smells great, and I'm sure it'll taste great as well." I smiled watching him beam. I picked up some of the food on my plate and ate, not noticing until now that my stomach was growling. I heard him laughing and I blushed, eating more.
    "You are gonna eat too right?" I asked, looking up to see if he set himself a plate. Apparently he did and it was now empty.
    "Oh.." I mumbled.
    "You sure you're okay Mer? You're zoning an awful lot." The concern showed so clear on his face.
    "Really, Mar, I'm fine." I said smiling. I didn't think that telling him would be good, because we're already going through 'the tough time'.
    "Okay, here let me clean your plate." He said, reaching for the now empty plate in front of me. I couldn't even remember finishing it. Maybe I was zoning. But it was all him, not something else. He was the only thing I had on my mind. My thoughts were consumed with him and my mind wandered to the dream from last night, causing a blush to form on my cheeks.
    "Bathroom." I said, hurrying to hide the blush. Rushing into the bathroom, I walked into the shower, but not before discarding my clothes, folding them neatly so I could wash them later. I then turned the water on, putting it on warm and letting it run over my skin. It helped me focus better. I didn't notice the soapy surface, probably from my father, who always left a soap spot that managed to last for days. Stepping into the shower I tripped and fell, knocking my head on the wall and blacking out.

    {Maruduk}

    Maruduk heard a loud “THUNK” as he was cleaning the dishes.
    “Mer? You ok in there? Hello?” He walked up to the bathroom door and knocked.
    “Ya ok in there sis? Meredith?” He waited for an answer. Or even breathing. Nothing from the room.
    “I’ll give you three seconds to speak then I’m coming in there.” Still no answer. He started to get worried and, against his better judgment, he opened the door slowly and peeked inside.
    “Mer?” He then saw her facedown on the floor of the tub. “Holy crap, Meredith!” He grabbed a towel, threw it on her to cover her and looked at her head for any signs of cracking or bruising. After he found none he check for any signs of bleeding on the tub. He found no sign of red on the tub. He then went to his moms emergency closet and brought out smelling salts. He placed some in the tub and grabbed a bucked of warm water. He then washed the water over the salts and left the room till Meredith was awake.
    “Geez. Never knew she had such a hard head.” He sat down and grabbed an Encyclopedia and started reading. The smelling salts should activate in about two minuets.

    Maruduk looked at his watch his step father gave him. 1.30 minuets to go. He then remembered he left the towel on her. He slapped his forehead.
    “Knew I forgot something. Well I’m not getting it now. Last thing I need is for Merry to slap me when she wakes.” He thought of how she acted during breakfast.
    “Wonder what was up with her? It’s like she’s never seen anyone make breakfast before.” He shrugged.
    “Women. Scientificly inclined to screw up science for their variableistic attitude.” He chuckled a bit.
    He then prepared lunch for both of them and went for his usual walk. He left a note at the front door to tell Merry about his absence. Though she should figure it out by herself after a while.

    He walked to the grocery store and bought himself the usual mango tea. He paid the cashier and walked to Sunset Hill. The towns proclaimed most romantic place. And it didn’t disappoint. During the rise and set of the sun still gave a grand view. The setting of the sun, however, was the best one as per the name, Sunset hill for it set on the huge river creating an effect that seemed like millions of diamonds were embedded in the waters.
    He sat on the lone tree atop the hill and sipped his tea little by little, watching the sun rise into the sky. He would often come here by himself to clear his head, or figure something out. This was the first time he had come here to pass time and relax.

    How am I going to spend 5 months with someone I love, yet can’t have for various reasons?

    He shook his head and watched as the sun rose over the mountains. The mountains basked in it’s glow and seemed to stand out like a shining gem of topography. Maruduk sighed. He looked up at the Sakura tree and saw it was ready to give shade for the summer. It was inviting, it’s branches out like open arms, yet almost like inviting hands to welcome someone into their house and home. He sighed again and sipped some more of his tea.
    Life was the hardest Algebra problem of all. So many variables that could cause disaster the end product. So how have so many people figured it out?
    He pondered this as the sun rose higher and higher.

    {Meredith}

    She woke up and held her head, feeling a bump on the back of it. She groaned, sitting up and then looking around.
    "Looks like I did that clumsy act." She said to no one.

    After changing into clothes she decided to sit on Maru's bed and sniff his pillow. She swore as she did it, because it was so weird but she couldn't help but love him. Now, laying there thinking of him, she figured he went on a walk and decided she could fall asleep on his pillow, in his bed. She hoped he wouldn't find her like this, and he wouldn't catch her while she was still asleep, making her audiable, but not loud noises. Even as she decided to get up, her body rejected the idea, and she fell asleep, clutching his pillow as she dreamt of her secretly favorite dream, of her and her lover/ brother. Life was so unfair. To be able to have him without having him made her heart hurt and she dozed off, thinking of that but enjoying her dream for the most part.

    Awhile passed, and when she awoke again, for again it was, she checked her tape and found that her sounds were louder. Much louder. She really hoped now, more than ever that Maru didn't hear her. It would be a catastrophy and then there would be more complications. She knew she couldn't bare to be away from him!

    "I want him to be mine without the already tough complications!" She yelled into his pillow, taking in his scent once again. She then began to ponder with her thoughts. Wondering where he was and what he was doing and if he was safe. She figured she could give him a hug when he came back and thank him for rescuing her from the water. So when he did return she would rush to him and hug him.

    [Maruduk]
    I walked home and waited at the door. I always waited till it was 50 seconds till 7 A.M to knock. As soon as it hit 7 I knocked and waited till the clock hit 7:01 to enter. It was, again my usual routine that I had done for years now. I heard a bit of a clutter, something crash, and scuffling. I was worried a bit and raised my right eyebrow 5 cm.
    "You ok in there Mary?" At 5 seconds I heard what sounded like a "Something like that!"
    At Seven exactly I opened the door and found her...Cleaning the living room?
    "Um...you ok?" I asked her.
    "Fine. Why you ask?" She said totaly oblivious that this was the actual first time she was cleaning in front of me.
    "Um...nevermind...I'm gonna go to our room...maybe Shadow's awake."
    Mary rolled her eyes. "You and your pet carrier pidgen. That thing is seriously smarter than it should be." She then looked like she saw a horror film. "Wait a millisecond!"
    I froze and looked at her. "Why? You didn't clean our room?" She nodded slowly and I shrugged. Women. Somethings aren't meant to be understood. I thought and layed on the couch and turned on Mythbusters on the TV and Placed a Future Science Magazine next to me. "Well you know how restless he gets. I'd hurry if I were you."

    {Mer}

    I finished with the room in a matter or minutes. After doing what I needed to I went back to find Mar. "Um.." I started, biting my lip softly. "Thanks for earlier. i promise to be more careful." I said, rushing in the hug and then regretting it. I didn't like rushed hugs. Especially if it was Mar I was hugging. I blushed, then ran all the way to our room, tripping on the stairs and stumbling back up them. I shut the door and breathed rapidly.
    Yea that was real cool... Such an idiot. I should've tried to be more calm. But how can I when everytime I see him my heart wants to pop out of my giant chest. So now I sat, waiting for the beating to slow and my head to come back. I pulled out my recorder, listening to my loud noises from last night. I began to recall the dream and then pushed it away hitting myself with a pillow.
    "Man, I wish it was easier than this."
    I went back dowstairs to see if I could make a sandwhich or something to calm my nerves. I was walking back to the living room and then stopped to think. What does Mar do when I pass? Does he act like its nothing? Does he stare?! I continued walking and in my thought I jumped, because he probably did stare, like most boys. When I jumped my sandwhich flew out of my hand, landing directly on Mar. Boy was I going to get it.

    [Maruduk]

    I looked at the sandwich that landed on my head. Peices and bit scatered on the floor and the couch. I looked at Merry for a second and she stared at me in anticipation. After that we both ended up on the floor laughing.
    "Wow...I thought cloudy with a chance of meatballs was a ficticious book." I said, still chuckling. I picked up the food off my head and walked toward her. After thinking for a second I decided, screw it, and kissed her on the forehead, parting her hair from it first. It was a brother to sister thing, but I felt a bit more from it. I gave her a smile and walked to the kitchen and made her a new sandwitch with shaky hands. "This is killing me." I whispered to myself.

    {Mer}

    I felt my heart pound. "Thanks." I managed to say. I kissed his cheek, and it didn't feel sibling like at all. I rushed upstairs and ate my sandwhich.
    "Oh my god. Oh my god." I took deep breaths and calmed myself again.
    "He..I.." I almost fainted. After finishing I brought down my plate and started to wash it. I felt like I was on cloud 7. Not on 9 quite yet. I alsofelt like kissing Mar. Not yet...I mean no, because it would make things worse. After all we still can't be in the same room. Probably better. I can't imagine what he'd say if he heard my noises...

    {Marudik}

    I sat on the chouch and looked like I was watching it. In reality my head was spinning worse than New Orleans in Hurrican Katrina.
    Did she just...Did I realy?.....what just....does that mean....but the possibility of our parents....could we possibly go on with this?
    I looked up at the closed door to our room and thought about talking to her about it...
    I shook my head at the thought.
    "She probably changed her range of boys now...She might even have another choise besides me." I said to myself.
    I then resumed to watch Adam Savage and co. try to see if they could clean a cement truck on the inside with TNT...

    {Mer}

    I went back downstairs. I sat down on the floor in front of him, making sure to be close but not touch. He probably wasn't interested and that made me sad. Very sad inside. So I decided he would or wouldn't do something.
    "So...what's going on in the show?" I asked him, looking up.
    "Just trying to clean the inside of the cement truck with TNT."
    "Oh." I said, leaning on his hand on accident. Why couldn't we just...I mean...I wanted to...just take his face and...
    "What are you doig Mer?" I heard him ask.
    "Wha?" I looked and noticed that I'd reached for his face. "Oh!"
    "You okay?"
    I didn't answer.

    [Mar]

    I had an instant change of mind when I saw her unconsiously reaching for my face. There were many possibilities for why she did that but for some reason I had renewed hope. I couldn't help but smile at the thought and another struck me.
    "Hay Mer. Can I show you someplace? IT's the place I always go to for my walks."

    {Mer}

    He smiled and when that happened I couldn't help but smile back.
    "Sure, where?" I asked, getting up and then looking at his hand, wondering if we'd just walk side by side or hand in hand.

    Chapter 5: Sakura's test.

    [Maruduk]
    We walked passed my usual haunts. Then we were at the spot. Sunset hill and my ol' Cherry blossom tree.
    "Here we are. This is where I spend my free time." I explained and sweeped my arm like a gentleman.

    {Mer}
    I took in the scenery and gasped. "Wow Mar, it's beautiful." I couldn't help but feel a tinge of my day dreams and I didn't let them bother me. "Wow..."

    [Maruduk]
    I smiled and explained the views. "We have the sun-rise hill-" I said pointing to the eastern side of the hill. "-where the sun rises over the mountain-tops. And then my favorite, but not till later, Sunset hill. Also known to me as Sakura hill because of Sakura here." I patted the Cherry Blossom tree on the top of the hill.
    "This spot is unlike anything else in the world. It's like...the world's about to end...but it's a peaceful one. A silent one....one of undescribable beauty..." I glanced at her when I said the beauty part and she caught me looking. I blushed Bright Red quickly turned to the sea.
    "And Sakura here provides the perfect shade every time of the year. She's never let me down yet." He siad looking up at the tree's branches.

    {Mer}
    I couldn't believe the way it looked. "Wow Maru." I looked at him. "Why so eager to show me?" I couldn't help but ask. It was puzzling me for a while.

    [Maruduk]
    I thought I saw a sliver of a smile on her. Now to see if she still has feelings for me. I needed a sign...
    "Hay. You know what else they call this hill?" I asked her.

    {Mer}
    "Another name? No what do they call it." I secretly hoped it was something romantic. I wanted to look at him and blush, maybe reach for his hand.

    [Maruduk]
    "They call it Lovers hill because of the sunset view. Thought I've only seen a couple couples cross to this hill. And I do give them privacy. I just go to plan B." He said. He leaned against the Sakura tree and looked at his secret plan B 20 miles in the distance.

    {Mer}
    Perfect. "That's...so romantic." I said. I felt the pull of my arm and before I knew it I was holding his hand. Even when I noticed I didn't let go. I just blushed and squeezed his hand a bit. "Plan B?"

    [Maruduk]
    I was going to answer but I felt her hand in mine. This was way more than I was looking for. And it was way better. I blushed and remembered the question.
    "Er...yea...Plan B. ehehe...that one's my little secret." He said mubleing a bit.

    {Mer}
    I didn't care that he didn't tell me. I just wanted to sit there and hold his hand. I felt my heart, ready to bounce out of my chest. I leaned, resting my head on his shoulder. "And...We can stay here for a bit right?" I asked him.

    [Maruduk]
    I was a bit unsettled. I then turned around with her hand still in mine and told her to wait. I then ran down the hill and to mister Honokea's Ramen shop.

    {Mer}
    I sat there and waited. Silently, to myself, I knew that if I had to I'd wait forever. I sang softly, letting my voice drift off to wherever it usually went. I secretly hoped that I hadn't driven him off, but I knew where to find him if I did.

    [Mar]
    I hauled the hot steam filled bamboo backpack up the hill and stopped to take a breath at the top of the hill next to Mer.
    "Ramen? *Huff huff* Anyone? There's miso and then the Big catch for me." I pulled the bamboo rental backpack off and layed it down exactly as it was so to not spill the ramen. I layed out the ramen bowls and gave her, her's respectively.

    {Mer}
    I looked at him and the couldn't help but laugh. "Wow Maru, I love you." When the words came out of my mouth I knew it wasn't a lie. It made me blush and take the bowl from him, swallowing. "Th-thank you."

    {Maru}
    "Love you too!" I said in a family like manor but for an un family like reason. I took my ramen bown with cut salmon and ate it in 27 bites.

    {Mer}
    I finished my bowl and watched him. I decided that I probably should've taken a nap too. So I rested my head and then closed my eyes. After that i was off to my dream world. He was asleep too, so he wouldn't hear it.
    I then layed down for my usual nap on the hill and rested my eyes.
