    A lost love never sleeps.
    The pain grows forever more
    until death, silent death,
    sweeps me off my feet

    to my utter defeat,
    where life is sapped,
    sucked out until there
is not a single drop of
    soul.
    For that single drop
    holds hope, life, and love.
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Another day, I thought, as I slumped out of bed. I got dressed. School. I thought. How much worse can it get?
    First period. The bell rings.
    Finally, that's over.
    Forth period. Finally, lunch.
The bell rang for the final time.
    Bus. Stupid bus.
    Home.
    Dinner.
    Sleep.
"Again?" I thought. I got dressed. Bus. School. "Why?" I asked again.
    I hate Tuesdays.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Day after Day.
    life ends and starts anew
pain and sorrow life and love.
    Which to choose?
    the latter.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Today we have a new student, class." the teacher said.

    "Please welcome Lorelei Evens."

"Your seat is next to Thomas Abendroth,“ he whispered to her. I'm guessing he pointed but I don't know.

"It's Tom," I said as she sat down in the empty seat on my right.

I held out my hand to shake hers. My eyes were closed.

    "Call me Lorie," she whispered.

She sounded heavenly as I heard her beautiful, graceful voice.

I then opened my eyes and she was even more magnificent than I have ever imagined she would be from her angelic voice. Her eyes were a brilliant blue, shining, deep as the ocean. Her hair was black, a wonderful contrast to her eyes. My heart began to soar.

She was perfection of a girl.

The first person I have ever truly loved.

My heart was now flying. Higher and higher still. It is an eagle, free from any harm, King over all of the Birds of the Sky.

I swooped back down, into this lifeless body. I began to smile.

Since that moment, first period was a blur. I dreamed of what life can finally be.

    The bell rang.

The eagle began to plummet to the earth, its wings, clipped.

    2nd period.

    English.

    Back to my dull life.

I sat down in my seat in the back.

I closed my eyes for maybe a minute.

"Oh hey! You're in this class, too, Tom?" it was her.

"Miss Evens," Mr. Sauch began,” you sit right here." He slapped the desk behind me.

"Thank you," she said with her sweat voice.

"So I was wondering," she began, "if maybe you could show me around. I saw that we're on the same bus this morning."

"I only rode the bus because my car broke down as I pulled into the driveway Sunday."

    "Oh, ok."

"Well, where do you live? I'll pick you up after I get my car at the shop."

"At um, 43 6th Street. It's the second floor. We're renting it. Well why don't I go with you to the shop and we can go from there?"

"That's fine." I said. I can’t believe it, so she's the one who's renting our upstairs!

"Cool." she said. People were now walking in.

Today we are going to watch Antigone..." I began to doze....

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

"Wha?” ... someone was poking me.

    "Wake up Tommy," Lorelei whispered.

    "Wha? What's goin' on?"

"You were asleep Tommy, we just watched Antigone. Class is almost over."

    The bell rang.

    3rd period. 10th grade PE.

"Sup John?" I said as I began to change.

    "So the new girl..."

"Yeah, what about her?" I said angrily.

"You like her." he began to smile.

    "Yeah, so what?"

    "Hmm..."

    "She lives above me."

    "Nice" He said.

    --------------------------------------------------

"Ok everyone, 20 laps 'round the gym," the coach hollered.

"So far she's in all of my classes." I said as I watched her jog out of the girl's locker room.

    "Dude."

    "Yeah?"

    "We're moving."

    "Where to?"

    "The house next to you."

"That old dump? Wasn't that pile of trash condemned?"

"Yeah. We're gonna need some extra hands to fix it up after school today. You game?"

    "Can't."

    "Why? You're never busy!"

    "I am today."

    "What do you got planned?"

"Lorie asked me to show her around."

"And you said yes? You're the most anti-social person I know!"

    "Shut up."

    "Fine, fine."

    -------------------------------------

    We finished our laps.

"Today we're going to the Fitness Center."

"Yes Coach" We all recited. The thing was, Mr. Mist, or rather, Herr Mist, was the German teacher. And if you took at least two weeks of German at our school, you would quickly learn that the German word for crap is Mist. Because of this he makes everyone call him Coach, even the parents. I don't blame him though. I mean seriously, who in the right mind would want to have Crap for a name?

We headed strait to the treadmills. The one thing I enjoy to do was to run. That, and hanging out with John.

"Say, what are you doing tomarrow?"

"Same as always John." I began to speed up.

"Let's do something new." He hopped onto the treadmill on my left.

"What?" I kept on turning up the speed.

"I dunno. Something!" he was catching up with me.

"Let's go to the hangout." I reached the max speed.

"The hangout?" He matched my speed now.

"While you were gone on your vacation last summer, I was working on it." I began to raise the incline.

"Ok." He followed. "So what did you do?"

"A lot." I increased the incline to the max incline.

"Such as?" He matched my incline and speed.

"Boys, why are you running so fast on such an incline?" The coach asked.

"I'm gonna beat him." John said.

    "No you won't." I bantered.

"I'll show you!" He let go of the handles.

He started to fall back. He stopped the treadmill.

"You win." He said, gasping for air.

The coach pressed the off switch on my treadmill.

"You boys are great. Why aren't you in track or football?"

"Because we don't show off unless it is to eachother." John answered.

"Well you boys are done for the day."

    "Thanks coach."

"But don't ever do that ever again! Ok boys? You almost got hurt."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Finally lunch.

    “I’m starving.”

“Hey, you mind if I show her the hangout?”

    “Why?”

    “Dunno.”

    “I wanna see it first.”

“So where are we gonna go Tom?” Lorie asked as she sat next to me.

“Well what do you want to see?”

“Well where do people go to hangout?"

"I dunno. I'm not that social."

    "Well you said yes."

    "Good point."

"Hey, maybe a movie would be nice." John suggested.

"That's a wonderful idea!" she was delighted. He was setting us up for a date.

"Why don't you join us John?" She asked.

"I can't, I'm moving into my new house."

    "Why don't we help you?"

"That was the plan anyway before I said yes to showing her around."

    "Sure!" She agreed.

"Then we'll come over first then." I said.

We finished our meals without another word.

"Hey hey Tommy," Dan Veetor said. He was the biggest jerk in the school. If it weren't for me, he'd be an angel. The reason why is that he still has some beef on me for when I supposedly threw an egg-filled balloon at him in the third grade. Truth be told, it was John. He only thought it was me because I was laughing the hardest.

    "So how was lunch?"

"Oh, just fine Tommy. You know what, I was planning on coming over to your place today, just to play a game with you. If you know what I mean, of course."

"Oh, I'm sorry Danny, I'm VERY busy today, I'm gonna go pick up my car at the shop, then I'm gonna go and help out my friend move in, and then I'm going to hang out with my new friend here, Lorie."

"Then I guess tomorrow then?" he was getting steamed.

"Neah, I'd rather not, besides, I hate Wednesdays just as much as Tuesdays."

    "I don't care, tomor----"

The bell rang before he could say another word.

    ---------------------------

Forth, fifth, and sixth period were a blur. Just Art, Music, then Biology class.

By seventh period, I discovered that Lorie was in all of my classes now.

History, I would say is the worst class ever. We have to learn about what happenED not what is happenING, or what COULD happen. The worst thing about class is the teacher. He is the most boring teacher you will ever have. He looks like he could be in his 50's, AGAIN!!! And on top of that, he draws out his words realy slow, AND, he forgets what he said, not even a second after he says it!

I decided to sleep through the class, like everyone else does.

    ----------------

The bell rang and school was finally over.

"Come on Lorie, the bus is right here! John's allready on the stupid thing!" I said as I began to run to stop the moving yellow death trap.

"I'm right here," she said as she came up behind me. We got on and sat in seat 26, my lucky number.

"So John's going home to get started while we're getting my car right?"

"Yeah," John said sitting across from me.

    "Yep" Lorie agreed.

"Some test, huh, Tom?" John said.

    "That was easy." I said.

    "What did you get?"

    "A 73."

    "Nice."

    "What happened Tommy?" Lorie asked.

"Didn't know about the test untill today. Heheh."

    The bus stopped.

"Well, we get off here Lorie," I said as I stood.

"Ok," she said, following me off the bus.

"It's the Pepboys right here," I said as we walked across the parking lot.

"So what kind of car do you have?"

"It's the red '69 Chevelle SS right here." I said as we passed my car. We walked through the door.

"Whatchu' want kid?" the man said behind the counter, reading the paper.

"I'm here to pick up the 69 Chevelle."

"Here's the key. Just sign here." He said, handing me a form with my key. He was still reading.

"Here," I said handing him the form. I just noticed his paper was upside-down.

"Wh-" Lorie began, but I stopped her.

"Have a nice day," I said as we left.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

"Ok, we're at your place. Drop your stuff off, then we can drop my stuff off."

"I'll be quick, I just have to tell my dad."

    "Ok."

I waited a little, then she hopped back in the car.

    "Let's go," She said.

I drove around the block and parked in the spot where we were in the first place.

    "We're here."

"Are you serious Tom? I live above YOU?" she began to laugh.

    "Yeah, you wanna come in?"

"Sure," she said, still pulling herself together.

    "Hey Mom! I'm home!"

    "Hey Tom, who's your friend?"

"Her name is Lorelei. She's our new neighbor."

"Oh so she's the Even's daughter. Well it is wonderful to meet you Lorelei."

"Thank you, it's wonderful to meet you, too."

"So what are you up to?"

We're gonna help John move in, then all three of us are going out to the movies Mrs. Abendroth."

    "Well you kids have fun."

    "Thanks Mom."

We walked out and went next door. "So this is John's house?"

    "Perhaps," I said.

    "Wow."

"Door's open!" John yelled from inside.

We walked in. I looked around and the place looked like nobody moved in, nor out. "Dude! The place is done! How?!" I was confused.

"Movers. Just need help with paintin' my room."

    "Idiot. What color?"

    "Black. Come on upstairs."

"That's cool." Lorie said, admiring all of the photos in the stairwell.

    "Ok let's paint!"

We walked in and it was painted. In fact a bed, dressers and a tv were all set up and put where they are suposed to be. An Xbox, a PS3, a Wii, GameCube, a SuperNintendo and even an Atari 2600 was all set up, and looked well played.

"Ok when did you REALY move in you pringle???" I said.

"This weekend, and I don't sniff bike seats, my friend."

    "Idiot."

    "You wanna play a game?"

    "Why not?" Lorie said.

    "Ok, whatchu wanna play?"

    -----------------------------

After we played MarioKart on the Wii, we left for the theaters in my Chevelle.

"Three tickets please," I said to the cashier.

    "Here you go."

"Thanks." We walked into the theater and took a seat. Lorie to my right, and John to my left.

    "Popcorn?" John asked.

"Sure." I said. I was getting kinda hungry. "Hey don't forget the butter this time will ya? And get some salt,me a super-large Icee and some pretzels."

"I'll have pretzels, too please, and a large coke. Thanks John."

"Ok, and I'll get myself a hotdog, and a large Pepsi. Don't worry, I'll pay for us all, cause you payed last time Tom."

"Hey, thanks for the great time so far Tom."

"It was a pleasure, to hang out with you today. I'm glad you moved in the place above me Lorie." She began to blush.
