• "Oh my god!" The disbelief took over my body. I threw myself back and hit my head.
"Be careful," He was shocked to see me like that, "You could get a concussion that way!"
It was the boy from the farm. Well, He wasn't a boy any more. He was my age!
"You remeber me, right?" He took use of my long, thinking, pause.
"Yeah, I just never got a name." I sound normaler than I thought I would
    "Lester."
    "Lester?" I scrunched my nose.
    "Yup. Why?"
"Haven't heard that name in awhile." I tried keeping the grin off my face, but couldn't.
"Well," He crossed his arms and made a face, "You laugh while you can because you won't be laughing to where you're going!"
I stopped immediatly, "Where am I going?"
A smug grin crossed his face as he looked down at me over his nose, "Ah, you don't know. Well, How do I say this? Well, You're going to die."
Somehow, This was a sudden relief to me. He wanted me to act shocked, but I didn't, So he didn't get what he asked for.
    "Where's Bertha?" I piped in.
He shrugged and bit his lower lip, "Somewhere. You'll know when she's here."
    "Lester?"
He looked at me, concerned, "Yeah?"
    "I'll be okay, right?"
Lester stared at me, "It'll be a peaceful death. Don't worry. I wouldn't let you die painfully."
    "Why not?"
"Would you like to die painfully, 'cuz if you want to I ca-"
"No, no," I shook my head, "I just don't feel.... safe."
"Around me?" He snapped his head at me.
"I don't feel safe dieing, I mean." I got the chills and put my hands on my shoulders.
Lester floated towards me and wrapped his arms around me. Like a person, His hands didn't go through me. I was already dead, "Listen, I wouldn't let anyone or anything hurt you, darling. You're worth alot to me, and I mean that."
I smiled up at him. We stared at each other for awhile. For some reason, i felt like crying infront of him. I trusted him with just about everything, now.
    "Children!"
I looked up. It was Bertha. Lester hurried to her side and looked at me like a whipped puppy.
"The time has come, Katlynn, for you to join us an-"
"Yeah, I know. Scary scary! Just kill me already!" I barged in.
"Okay." Bertha came to me. She put her hand across my heart and breathed in deeply. I stared at Lester. He was looking protectivly over at me. I couldn't help but feel loved.
Suddenly, I was standing next to myslef. I was going flatlined. I looked over at Lester as he stared at dead me. His eyes were wide with disbelief as if he thought I wasn't coming back as a ghost. The doctor, news, and my mother came running in.
"My baby!" My mother wailed. Her tears were real as she wept. She dropped to her knees by the side of my bed and cupped my hand in hers, "Why? Come back!"
"Mom." I whispered, bitting my lip.
The docotor tried reviving me. It wouldn't work. The doctor shook his head and said there was no hope of me ever coming back.
"Beautiful baby. Please. Come to me." Mom cried. Her tears fell upon my arm.
"We must go now!" Bertha snapped.
I wanted to touch my motherr's shoulder so she knew I was here., but she wasn't worth it. The anger arose in me. Lester came to me, quickly.
"Let us go now!" Bertha snapped. The wind wrapped around us all. I cuddled close to Lester. We appeared in a different place.
    "Oh wow." I gasped.
It was beautiful. It was a forest with one clear spot in the middle, A purple light shone through the treetops, A waterfall was behind that and doves were chirping loudly.
"It's all yours." Lester said in amazment.
I grabbed his hand. He smiled. Bertha smiled at the two of us.
"I knew it would happen." She sang.
    I gasped, "You me-"
    "Yup." Bertha smiled.
I looked up at Lester. He gave me a reassuring smile, worried, but calming.
    "So, We're getting m-"
