• Spending time alone with Nunnally was a rarity and Suzaku Kururugi was grateful for the moment. Growing up in hiding with Lelouch and his sister was something Suzaku was grateful for. They were his only friends and to be trusted enough by Lelouch to watch over the young girl made the Japanese boy smile. "Suzaku." Nunnally says quietly, snapping him from his thoughts. She was out of her wheelchair, sitting next to him on the ground in a field of flowers, the only light coming from the moon and the swarm of fireflies starting to play in daisies around them.

"Yes, Nunnally?" Suzaku asks as he lifts his head to look up to her, his fingers intertwining a blade of grass.

"It feels like it's a beautiful night. Is it?" The girl asks in her usual quiet voice, her lips curling up in her usual smile. "I hear humming... fireflies?"

Suzaku nods out of habit before replying, "Yes. There's hundreds around us."

Nunnally contemplates on this, her brows narrowing as she falls deep in thought. Suzaku remains quiet, his hand focusing on covering his entire index finger with green, waiting for the girl to continue. "Is it fun to run through them?"

That was an odd question as Suzaku frees his finger from the grass. "I wouldn't know. Never interested me to try." It dawns on him rather quickly that there was a reason she asked though, as he gives a chuckle. "Do you want to run through them, Nunnally?"

Before Nunnally could ask how it would be possible to do so, she was swept up easily in the boy's arms. Her arms flail in trying to find his upper body, draping themselves over his shoulders and locking hands behind his neck. "Suzaku, are you sure you can do this?"

With a small grunt as he takes off in a light jog, Suzaku nods. "If you want to run through the fireflies, then running we shall do." The boy says with a small laugh, keeping her close to him. It got easier to run holding her, her laughs fueling him to keep up, the two children laughing until the only light that remained was the moon.
