• 8:00 AM; the red numbers glowed over the black background of the alarm clock.
The randomly picked song that played seemed a bit distorted, a sign that this clock was old.
Victoria sat up groggy as ever, greeted by the gentle rays of the sun.
The dream she had was alarming but she smirked and found herself laughing at just how foolish and unrealistic it was.

But she looked in the corner and spotted her heels - sitting in a puddle of water. As if she were.. walking in water the previous night. Maybe... rain water? But that was illogical! It couldn't be!
No, it was possible, right? But the man, and the bite. That didn't happen. It couldn't, it wouldn't, not in a million years.

    Vampires didn't exist.
    Did they?

She touched her neck and expected to feel a sharp pain - nothing.
"So then it was a dream.."
She sighed with relief, sliding out of bed and claiming the seat of her beauty table.

"Just a dream that wouldn't happen, couldn't happen, and vampires are not real. Not real. They're fake. They're enclosed in their books and movies.. No sparkled bloodsucker is going to pop out of an apple and gnaw on me."

She convinced herself, and realized just how right she was. But she looked in the mirror and there was the faintest of red on the side of her neck she hadn't checked. Among that faint red, were two tiny little holes.
    No...
She breathed heavily and pushed away from the table with a shriek. It couldn't have been that terrifying, right?
She looked into the mirror a second time - and it was perfectly clear. What..?

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Sitting at the round table outside of the Bistro, Victoria chatted with her friends but she wasn't quite sure if she should express what had happened in the 'dream', and what she went through when she woke up.
Of course, they would think she was crazy.

Victoria glanced to the side with a smile on her face and noticed a man, whom for the most part, was staring at her. His eyes were a piercing bronze, and she could practically feel that malicious glare burning into her flesh.
But the worst part; this was the same man on her balcony, and the same man who bit her. He did bite her, right?

The stranger grinned and those fangs sparkled in the sunlight. Wait.. Vampires can't stand the sun, right? Then what could he possibly be if not that? No - this was a vampire she was sure.
What kind of vampire can go out in the sun without sparkling, or burning?

    Daywalkers.

The Daywalker walked towards the group table casually and as he neared the fangs were replaced by 'human' teeth. Impossible.
He neared until he was leaning against the table, his gaze locked on Victoria.

    "Hello ladies..."
