• Nothing eventful happened after the near kiss between me and Shade in September, other than the cavities me and my friends got on Halloween. We ate so much candy, we were all sick for a week. Well, that's one week of missing school, and avoiding Shade. Those were the only good points about that week, other than that, that week was crap.

Nothing happened between me and Shade too. After I dodged the kiss, he left me alone for a while. Rarely talking to me, sitting in the front of the bus, not following me, and other such things. Although I didn't like him all that much, it felt weird. A few days with him and already his daily comments had become a part of my routine. Now I really must be going crazy.

Well, enough dwelling on the past, I should pay more attention to things in the present. Like the snowball that had just hit my head. Me and Rose were having a snow ball fight in the field near our houses, hiding behind walls of snow like children. My fort was almost as tall as me, making good cover. Rose's fort on the other hand....not so good. Part of it gave way the first snowball that hit it. Though I offered to fix it, she said no.

I dodged just as a snowball went flying over my head. Rose may have not been able to make a snow fort very good, but she threw hard! I looked over the top of my fort and threw my snowball at the face of Rose that had just popped up.

"Ow!" That shout from across the field told me that I had hit the mark.

"Yes." I said silently, punching the air.

"Pay back!" I looked up to see Rose in her thick, puffy coat with a snow ball in her hand.

"Crap! No fair!" I scrambled away at the last second, grabbing a snow ball as I stood up. I grabbed the hood of Rose's jacket, pulled back and stuck my snow ball in-between the inside of her jacket and her shirt.

"H-h-hey!" I laughed as Rose shivered and grabbed the partly melted ball of snow out. "That was freaking cold!"

"Your fault!" I shrugged as I said this.

"My fault?! How is this my fault?!"

"You tried to sneak attack me."

"Whatever! Anyways, did you remember to get me something? Christmas is in a week."

"I was supposed to get you something? I completely forgot!" I said with a sarcastic tone.

"Oh ha ha. Hey, have you heard?"

"First snow balls, than presents, now what?"

Note to self; Rose likes to change the topic a lot.

"I heard that Shade is going to ask some girl out on Christmas!"

"Yay. Now he'll stop bothering me for good."

"Rumors are going around that it'll be you."

"Yeah right. I highly doubt that. He left me along for like the past three months! Why now?"

"I'm only repeating what I heard. Don't get mad at me!"

"Hazel probably started it. She was there when Shade almost kissed me." I immediately covered my mouth. I had never told Rose about that incident three months ago, only because she liked Shade too.

"You and Shade almost did what?!" Yep, there it was. The explosion from Rose. But what came next surprised me. "Now I know he'll definitely ask you!" Personally, I expected her to rip my head off.

Note to self number two; maybe I don't know Rose inside and out.

"Whatever. Anyways, lets head back to my house."

"Okay. I kind of want some hot chocolate."

Note to self number three; Rose really likes to change the subject.
