• “You may not know this but how we carry out our missions is in groups or squads. There are relevantly three newbie vampires accompanied by one General or a Grand-General”, Fox told Dhark proudly. Dhark nods his head and pouts on the inside felling as if he was being treated like a small child in a kindergarten class.
“And our squad isn’t fully complete yet plus since you’re the newest member you’ll probably be with me, Will and whoever our General/ Grand-General is”, Maddie said cheerfully.
“Fantastic”, Dhark thought. He looks down to see Maddie’s hand pulling his and, he couldn’t help but feel the softness of her surprisingly tan skin. At first he thought to ask her to let go of him but, he just didn’t or couldn’t bring himself to.
“So goggles, don’t expect any special treatment just because you’re new or anything aright”, Will finally spoke. Dhark glared back at Will and said, “Don’t want any from you anyway you stuck up little-“, but he was interrupted by Maddie squeezing his hand and Fox slapping him in the back of the head.
After about ten minutes of walking they stumble upon a door of mass proportion, which makes them feel like fleas compared to its great size and demeanor. This is just my inner emo speaking but, I believe that eventually everyone feels this way to something.
Fox slowly opens the door and they all step through it to see another man dressed in all white.
“Ah hello you must be the unfinished squad. My name is Tom, just Tom because I don’t feel it necessary for you to know my last name.”
“That’s fine but, I guess you could say that this is that squad. I’m not sure if the boy will get assigned to this squad though but, that’s all up to you”, Fox replies.
“Oh don’t worry due to my supreme laziness I’ll just assign all of you into this group together.”
“What the hell kind of fair reasoning is that!!!???” Dhark yells.
“It’s the kind that I make and you’ll soon learn that everything in life isn’t fair. Plus maybe you’ll get to experience some things you like kid.” Tom says secretly to Dhark.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Dhark says angrily as he looks down and notices that Maddie is still holding his hand.
Maddie looks down and starts to blush and quickly releases his hand, “Sorry about that.” Dhark looks over to the ground angrily, and a bit embarrassed.
Tom begins to act like some ancient philosopher pondering about some mystical force or something like that when one of his random assistants asks him what’s on his mind. “Oh I’m just wondering if I should call the kid goggles or Romeo now, I’m leaning towards goggles though.” His assistant whispers some reply to him. “Oh sorry I forgot about squad assignment. Alright you guys are going to be squad one-thousand two hundred ninety six. Your General is Fox here.”

Fox begins to look annoyed as if someone was trying to sell him bagels or something. They walk out of the room as if they were banished from their parent’s room for whining about having a terrible nightmare. Fox looks at his band of misfit warriors, Will and Dhark were arguing over something as usual but, Maddie was just staring off into space. “This is going to be a long wait I can already tell. It feels as if a monstrous force is plotting against me and trying to make my life miserable but, that’s enough about my social life”, Fox thinks.
Dhark slows his pace to lag behind his new squad mates. “What is this feeling? It feels like …… I don’t know, it just feels familiar but, I just can’t remember. It’s making me feel like I was before they left.”
“Hey goggles what’s on your mind”, Will asked. Dhark looked up, surprised at ran up to the other’s pace. When he catches up to them he bows his head, smiles a little, and finds his eyes tearing up a little. Maddie looks over at Dhark to see his face and makes a small smile, but doesn’t tell Will or Fox because she knows they’ll give him hell or at least a bit more.

Soon the group reaches a small building with three old people that look as if you were to touch them they would break. “Well, if it isn’t Fox. How’ve you been sonny-boy?”
“I’ve been good Elder Todo, thank you for asking”, Fox replies with a curious bow of the head. Dhark looks over at Fox bowing his again, and wondering about these old geezers. Fox gets up and walks up to the desk they are sitting at.
“We’re the new squad; do you have our first mission yet?” Fox asks respectfully.
“Actually yes we do. Isn’t it amazing how fast our information travels these days”, Todo replies handing Fox a sheet of paper.
“Yes it is and thank you, I’ll see you when we return”, Fox says taking the paper.

When the group exits the small room Dhark asks Fox, “Hey who were those guys anyway?”
“Humph, they’re like the Trinity’s personal source of information. They’re also known as the “records of history”, Fox replies.
    “Why are they called that?”
“They’re vampires that have been with us for our entire existence, and took upon themselves to record the entire history of the Trinity for newborns like ourselves”, Maddie says unexpectedly. Dhark looks over at her, shocked, a little because he thought that like at his middle school a pretty girl like Maddie would be as smart as a log.
“Don’t look so surprised goggles, Maddies an ROH in training. Each squad has to have at least one medic or ROH, and at least one member must be combat trained.” Fox preaches.
“Me and you are the combat guys while Fox is like more of a last resort when worst comes to worse”, Will spoke.
Dhark stops talking for a while to try to take all this information being piled into his head like a business man’s briefcase, when an image of a piece of the ceiling falling on Maddie comes into his mind. He looks up to see a crack and pushes Maddie out of the way. The boulder then falls down to Dhark.

Fox, Maddie and Will stare at the boulder when Fox spots small waves of just plain shadows coming from under the chunk of ceiling. Suddenly, the rock melts as if being heated by some sort of blaze, but under the shadow was Dhark, who was flinched up prepared to die.
“G-Goggles, I think that answers our question about your essence”, Fox says calmly.
Maddie looks over at Dhark and his shadow, she steps back terrified. Dhark opens his eyes and notices Maddie backing away, “Great now a bigger freak.”
Fox reaches his hand down to lift Dhark up and says, “Come on kid, we got to hurry.”
“Dhark gets up and asks why. “We’re about to get our first mission….that’s why.”
