• A long time ago in the Galaxy of Perte, there was a goddess named Jaime and a god named Diggory. Jaime and Diggory both had many powers, and sometimes their emotions would accidentally trigger special powers they didn’t know they had. Jaime and Diggory fell in love and asked the ruler of Perte, the god Truco, if he could bind them together through marriage. Truco told them he could help them but when the time came he would take something of theirs to pay him back. He warned them that he may take something that they cherish deeply. Jaime and Diggory were so in love that they accepted Truco’s terms without a second thought.
One day, Jaime and Diggory had a set of twins. They named the girl Bestia and the boy George. Bestia grew quickly and Truco gave her the title of goddess of animals. George grew slower than his older sister but he became a very strong and healthy young god. Truco named George god of earth and nature. Soon after George had fully matured, Jaime bore another daughter whom she called Alexis. Alexis was still very young when Truco declared her goddess of aid and the future.
One day several years later, Diggory didn’t come home for dinner, and he wasn’t home the next day either. Jaime searched all over Perte but he was nowhere to be found. “Something is wrong,” Alexis said, “Father is gone.”
Jaime interrogated Alexis for answers, asking her what she could see of the future; but Alexis said she could not answer. Jaime was relentless for information, so Alexis gave her a hint. “Truco” she whispered. Jaime got her carriage and the flying horses that Bestia had created and sped off to Truco’s palace.
“Where is my beloved husband?” she asked the mighty god, “Where is he? Can you help me?”
Truco replied “I warned you this day would come. I was foretold by a water nymph that I would wed you and Diggory, and I would take something from you. The nymph told me that one day I would trick Diggory into thinking that you didn’t love him anymore so that I could marry you. Now that I see you still want Diggory, I’ve decided not to make you my bride, because you are too weak to be Queen of Perte. Be gone.”
Jaime was crushed when she realized that Truco had warned her so many years ago, that her marriage would cause her to lose something dear to her. She just couldn’t believe that it was Diggory that had been taken away.
Jaime went into a depression and left Perte and her children for the Galaxy of Trouve. When she was there she found a small, gray-looking planet that she was attracted to. Having no place to stay, Jaime created a planet next to the small, gray one. She stayed on her planet for several days, wandering alone on the clouds. Sometimes she would cry and her tears of sadness would create oceans. She had lack of sleep, and her beautiful hair started to fall out. Where her hair landed, continents were made. Jaime finally decided it was time to return to her children.
Jaime returned to Perte and summoned her children and brought her children to the planet she had created. Bestia created different types of animals for her mother’s planet, and George created different types of plants for the animals to feed on. Jaime told her children that she had created the planet right next to the small, gray planet because she felt a connection to it. Bestia, George, and Alexis agreed that they were attracted to the planet too. The family was content at the planet Jaime had created and decided they would live there.
One day, Jaime felt an impulse to travel to the small, gray planet that made her create her new home in the first place. She took her carriage and flying horses and flew away to the small planet. When she got off of her carriage she saw a figure in the distance. She walked toward it and it looked familiar. It was Diggory, her husband. She started running toward him and embraced him when she got close enough.
“I can’t believe I thought you were gone forever,” Jaime gasped, tears running down her face.
“I was never gone, I was just far away,” Diggory explained to her, “I cannot leave this little planet, because Truco might find me; but you can come here anytime. I disguised myself from Truco, in hopes that if I left Perte I could someday see you again... and here we are.”
Ever since Jaime visited Diggory on the gray planet called the Moon, it has revolved around Jaime’s planet, now called the Earth. Sometimes while roaming the earth, Jaime cries tears of happiness because she knows that her beloved husband is still alive. Her tears are what we call snow. Other times, Jaime is angry and upset when she remembers how Truco mislead her. Her anger creates thunder, lightning, and rain. But every time Jaime is reunited with Diggory, there is a faint rainbow in the sky.
