• Chapter 1 The Meadow

A fog clung to the bare trees. A light snow swirled around him. He was tall and built, but not bulky. His silhouette stood in the opening of the meadow. Another figure appeared out of the trees. A figure of a woman. She appeared to have long wavy hair. The man embraced her in his strong arms. Then he fell and the woman let out a shrill scream. The man had been...
Iris awoke and immediatly reached for her headphones on the nightstand. She cranked the volume. Iris took a deep breath and laid her head back down on the pillow hoping to fall back asleep. Iris had had that dream ever since she was adopted at the age of seven. The orphnage thought that she was a very smart girl for her age. The Johnson's adopted her. Her name changed to Iris Aaliyah Johnson. Before it was Iris Aaliyah Drakna. Her parents were murdered. The killer had not been found. Iris was what some people would call gothic, but she didn't wear leather and wear heavy black make-up. She had long light brown wavy hair. She dressed in a dark purples and reds with jeans. She wore gray eye shadow and a little masscara. Iris doesn't have friends. She has herself and she perfers it that way.
It was Saturday morning and Iris's parents had already gone off to the tennis club in Bismarck. So she had the house to herself. So peaceful. She liked it that way. She hated her parents because they were very prepy. They had blonde hair and blue eyes. They played tennis and wore white all the time. Anyways, Iris yawned and got up to go downstairs to her study. Which may sound pretty wierd for a 17 year old girl to have, but her parents were rich and she liked her privacy. She wrote a litte bit and read some. Until her parents got home. then, she left for her favorite spot in Mandan. The forest. She found a spot in the forest where nobody went because they were too frightened by it. The meadow. It was more like a gothic meadow. SHe loved it though. She always felt relaxed and peaceful there.
Once Iris reached the meadow she headed straight for her favorite spot to sit and day dream. So far in the story you must be thinking that Iris is pretty lazy, but she is actually quite fit. Anywho, she was about to sit down when she felt a presence. A sort of chill came over her. She turned around slowly. There she saw a man. He was tall and built, but not bulky. He had black hair that was cut short and had a messy spike to it. "You shouldn't be here." Iris told him. He walked slightly forward. "Then neither should you be." He said smiling slightly. "You may have a point there. Who are you anyway?" Iris asked him. He stepped forward. " I am William Conners. And you are?" He asked her. "Well, Mr. Conners," Iris said as they circled each other. "I am Iris Johnson." She said. "Hello Miss Johnson, i was just wondering if I had your special permission to hang out here. It would be a really nice welcoming gift. I'm new in town." He smiled a perfect white smile at Iris. "Depends..." Iris hesitated. "Depends on what?" William countered. "It depends on whether or not you will be here constantly." Iris said smoothly. "No." William replied as he stopped circling and walked closer to Iris. So close that Iris could feel his breath on her face and smell his colonge on his body. She thought that he was so hot! "Well... then i guess... yeah. Whatever... you can hang out here some times." Iris said defeated by his looks. "Okay."William said walking towards Iris's day dreaming spot. " Oh no you don't! That is my spot." Iris said walking after him. "Oh so now we're getting territorial." William said in a sarcastic way as he stoped and turned towards Iris. Iris crossed her arms. William smiled and took a step backwards and tripped over an exposed root. He fell right on his butt. Iris let out a laugh. William was embarrased butjust grabbed Iris's foot and pulled her down too. She fell down on top of William. They wrestled for a while in the gothic meadow. Laughing the entire time. Until William pinned Iris. "Oh get off of me!" Iris said jokingly. Truthfully she didn't want him to get off of her. " One question first... Will you go out on a date with me this coming Friday?" William smiled at Iris. "Ummm... Why?" Iris asked embarassed. "Because I think that you're beautiful and sweet." William said truthfully. "Well, it would be easier to decide if you weren't on top of me." Iris said trying to squirm free of William. "Okay..." William said releaseing Iris. Iris got up and brushed off the grass. "So..." William said. " Ummm... yeah sure." Iris said turning red. "My my Iris" William said walking towards. "You are so warm." He said touching her cheeks. Which gave Iris butterflies. "Wow, I didn't know that I'm that hot." William said sarcastically. "Oh shut up!" Iris said pushing William away jokingly. William laughed the cutest laugh ever! William started to walk off. "So I'll pick you up at seven?" William said "Yeah, i guess so." Iris said still a touch embarrased. She watched William walk off through the trees into the distance. Iris sighed. She was hoping that that date would come sooner.
