• "Hmm... thish cake tashtes shirtainly grand, Pippi. Did you bake it? The tea ish wonderul, too. You made thish all yourshelf? I love the bunsh ash well!" Wendalyn said with her mouth full of tea and cakes. "Wendy'sh right, great shob, Pippi!" Joey said with a bun in his mouth. I smiled and whipped my carrot-colored hair around my head feeling pleased. "Thank you, Wendy! You too, Joey! I'll go see if Fox or Mr. Snickerdoodle want your leftovers!" I said, grabbing their plates with about half of their buns and cakes left.

When Wendalyn was petting Fox in the backyard, Joey grabbed my hand and pulled me into the Art Room. "Joey, don't pull my hand! That hand you pulled is my best friend!" I shouted, jerking my hand back as we sat on a coffee table. "Pippi, I have a crush on you. Wendy knows that I do. Do you like me back?" Joey said. I stood up and said, "Does this tell ya?!" He looked surprised as I kissed him on the cheek, making the mistake of doing it as Wendalyn walked in. I didn't really have a crush on him, and I planned to tell him.

"Goodbye, Pippi! We'll come here after school tomorrow!" Wendalyn shouted over her shoulder as she and Joey walked out the front door. They took some leftover tea in a cup. "Wait, what's skual?" I asked. They had already left. I sulked into my room and into my bed, unbraiding my hair and taking off my enormous black shoes. Fox came dashing into my room as I was laying down. He jumped on my feet which were on the pillow and curled up. Mr. Snickerdoodle bounded in and sat on my face. "'Night, guys." I said in a muffled voice.
