• "Okay class!" James called out as his students filed in after lunch, "I know you've been reading from your novels right? Raise your hands if you've reached the tenth chapter." Only two hands rose while his other students chattered away.

    "Oh come on guys really?"

"It's a really nice book Mr. Franklin," one of his good students, Rosella, told him and smiled, "And I'm pretty sure everyone else will read it later." His other good student, Brett, nodded in agreement, "Yeah. I'm pretty sure that'll happen."

If he could he'd adopt them both. The two students were by far the only two who were not only cooperative to his lessons and homework, but were very kind to stand up for him when one of their classmates tried to disrespect him.

Rosella was a young Asian girl with long black hair and eyes. She was somewhat the only student who scored quite high on his assignments and even assisted him with his lessons. Brett was her brother who had skipped a grade and was placed with her. Just like his sister he too looked out for the new English teacher despite his slender build and younger age he scared most of the older boys by just glaring at them to be quiet.

"Hey what's cracking Mr. Franklin?" James sighed, "You're late Jamie," he told the boy as he hurried to a seat in the back earning approving smile from his partner in crime, Matthew, "Care to tell me this time or should I be worried it would be considered illegal?"

"Ah you know me," Jamie lazily replied as he leaned back in his seat, "Everything that-"

"Anyway back to the lesson," James quickly told his class before he regretted hearing another lame excuse from his student, "We're going to look into-" Noah peeked his head through the door, "Hey."

"H-Hey," James greeted a little unsure if his class would behave as the man entered the room, "Uh why are you here?" Noah looked a little hurt, "I'm here to help you," the other teacher replied and glanced at Brett and Rosella who smiled, "Hello Mr. Burton," they both greeted earning a surprise look from their own English teacher, "Y-You know him?"

"Well yeah," Brett told him, "We're a part of his Nerd Club aka Gamers, Anime, Manga, Comics-"

"It's basically a club we know him through," his sister politely told him, "Why are you here Mr. Burton?"

"I'm here to help your teach out," Noah casually told the two, "Looks like he needs it." Brett nodded in agreement as Rosella glanced out to see the entire class either asleep or talking very loudly. "PEOPLE!!!!!!!"

The entire class silenced for the first time as Noah's voice rang out loud and clear across the small space, "Okay. My name's Mr. Burton got it? I'll be helping Mr. Franklin out during this class day so be nice okay?"

James grew shock at the amazing skill this man had as he had the power to silenced his untamable class. "So you feeling better now?" Noah whispered quietly as the class worked on their essays before the bell rang, "I sorta guess you wanted to quit earlier in the teacher's room."

James nodded as he smiled slightly, "Yeah...You did help me out thanks." Noah smiled back and glanced at the frame on his desk, "That your son?" James glanced at the picture and smiled with pride, "Yup that's my son." The boy in the picture had light blonde hair unlike his own brunette brown hair, but their eyes were very similiar, a dark blue shade color. In the picture the child was dressed up as a fire fighter for Halloween that year, Noah took the frame and looked at it closely, "He's got your eyes....."

"Yeah, too bad his mom walked out on him..." Noah glanced at him, "She walked out from you two? Why?" James shrugged ,"She just didn't like to be tied down to me.....Said I wasn't husband material and I was different...He still sees her once every two or three times a week, but he's in my full custody. I took this job so I could pick him up on time from his daycare."

"That's very smart," Noah commented as he placed the frame back on the desk, "I just broke off my engagment to my fiancee'.....She didn't like being tied down either...."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that...." Noah just shrugged ,"It's fine. I got over it." The bell rang and the teenagers quickly dumped their essays onto the desk as they left, "Well see you tomorrow," Noah told James as he too left, "Wanna grab a coffee in the morning?"

    "Uh sure what time?"

"Oh maybe around....Seven-ish? Teacher's room okay?" Noah told him as he left, "See you James!"

"Bye Noah," James called out and paused a moment. He never had called another teacher by their first name before....He smiled as he shoved the papers and his laptop into his briefcase. They must've been good friends in a past life or something....
