• He threw the cigarette to the ground, blowing the thin black smoke threw his nose his hands already reaching for the box. With a deft click, the flame hungrily licked the white film burning it away. With another snap he closed the lighter, swiftly snuffing out the life of his discarded butt with a clean stomp. With a long inhale the fire ravaged closer to his mouth the crimson shadow lighting up his face, flashing off his eyes with a savage delight.
Another puff and more black smoke came billowing from his nose.
    “Time check.”
I crinkled my nose away from the smoke, hissing under my breath. In the darkness my eyes picked the numbers out clear as day.
    “Twelve fifty-two. Three minutes.”
Another puff, another stream of rancid smoke. “I can do the math.” He sighed. “She better hurry up.”
I smirked to myself as in the darkness his glowing cigarette was flicked through darkness. Two dark red lips sucked the smoke in letting the ensuing glow lighting up the smooth, pale skin. “Did you miss me sweetheart?”
She let herself crawl down from the bricks her lips sweeping only inches from his exposed neck. “You’re losing your touch, my dear… next time you let someone so close they might not be as merciful as me.”
“How many,” I asked my eyes turned away.
“Five, including the driver.” Her tongue slid over her teeth seductively. “An easy feed,” she purred.
    “Wonderful,” I lied.
I shivered excitedly despite myself as her cool soft arm slithered around my neck, her fingers petting my shoulder softly.
“It’s alright,” She whispered to me, her breath washing over me like an amber rose. “It’ll be over quick. They won’t feel a thing, I promise child. I’ll kill them quickly.”
“But I won’t,” the man smirked evilly. “I’ll draw it out… I love it when they scream.”
My iron stomach reeled horribly and the slap echoed through the ally as the women was on the man, one hand vice like around his neck her teeth barred and snarling. His cigarette tipped dangerously out of his mouth as her fierce beauty stunned us both.
Then as quickly as it had come, the serene calmness fell to her face and she ran her fingers down his chest lovingly.
“Pet… you know it hurts the boy. As long as he’s with us try to behave.” Two fingers shot up into the soft spots on either side of his throat. “That’s not me asking.” She smiled coyly as the sound of a bus steaming to a stop rang down our ally. “I’ll take care of this. Won’t be more than a minute.”

She didn’t lie. Fifty three seconds, and thirty-eight furious puffs later she came back. They took two each while I shuffled slowly behind forcing myself not to look down at the body that I cradled in my arms.
“It’s better not to know,” I lied. “Not to know who they are.” The smell of blood wafted up to my nose, my own delighted appetite nauseating me.
I never looked down. Not as I bit into my victim, not as I slowly and careful drained them of their precious blood. No. I looked only up at the stars and my eyes brimming with tears that could never come.
