• Chapter 14 Time together

    “CRAAAP!” i shouted crashing into the ground. my eyes tightly closed as pain started shooting through my body. I slowly rose up and brushed off myself lightly. I looked up in the sky. Ruki, floated high in the sky. scaled wings adorn her back. Her Chinese dress fluttered lightly as she hovered. Her emerald eyes glaring down at me with great ferocity.

    “What's the matter Sano-kun? You seem down for some reason?” she said making the obvious pun about me laying in a crater. I glared up at her in my phoenix form. I spread my wings and climbed as fast as i could. bringing my sword to the forefront. She readied her battle Axes and parried my blade thrust. I bounded off the block and prepared a power strike.

    “You really don't like me do you?” i asked sarcastically. She just kinda stared at me for a second.

    “Well to be honest, i don't hate you. But as far as my father is concerned i will do as he pleases. And considering he wants you dead,” she said as her stare became a glare. She flapped her scaled wings hard and flew at me as fast.

    “I'll have your head on a platter!!” she shouted swinging wildly. I deflected the attack and countered. My blade resonating with flames. I brought it around and attacked from the side. She blocked the best she could with her other ax. It damn near shattered as she repelled the attack. She flew back and tried regaining her balance, She swerved and started to fly away.

    “No way in hell are you getting away!” I shouted. My blade started to glow with a dark yellow colouring.

    “Phoenix Style! Cross Fire: Lightning Style!” I roared as lightning and flames mixed and mingled. I shot off 4 streaks of lightning flew fast after her. Hitting her wings. She howled in pain as she started to fall fast to the ground. She raised her hand just before making contact. a massive amount of trees shot out of the ground and seem to catch her. but from my stand point, she crashed hard inside of there. I sighed noticeably and flew into the forest as fast as possible. I flew in, dodging many branches and what not. I dropped to the ground and started looking on foot. I sighed looking around.

    “You've got to be kidding me. I'm looking for the enemy,” I say trudging through the forest.

    “Why do you look for me?” Ruki's voice rang out from above me. I glared up.

    “It just felt right, Don't ask me to try and explain,” i called back. she dropped to the ground next to me ax in hand. She held the blade to my neck

    “You make no sense to me. I hate you. And the one you represent. And yet to me personally, it doesn't feel like this is right,” she said lowering the ax from my neck.

    “Then you feel it too then.” I say under my breath. Ruki nodded. I turned to face her. “I don't think that we should be fighting one another. It's just wrong.”

    “I don't think so ether. but thats something i can't debate, considering my father is still alive. I'm sorry Sano. i really am, but so long as he's alive. i will fight you!” she said swinging the ax. I sidestepped the ax, grabbing the back blade and stepping forward, about to drive my elbow into her chest. she let her ax go and spun on her heels. Her second ax ready to tear my head off. my eyes fixated on her. To me, things slowed. I'm guessing that because of the lightning abilities, my molecules speed up greatly. My arm raised and smashed the ax in a swift motion. Ruki's eyes widened and she backed up.

    “Your way stronger then you were back in the park. how are you this much stronger?” she asked surprised. I just looked at her.

    “My powers advance via one on one combat with person's with other elemental controls. I fought my friend Kuno Marco a few weeks ago. And as a result Marco and I can access the other's abilities,” i said raising my hand. It glowed and glowed with both lightning and flames. She glared at me fiercely.

    “Still, you won't best me Yuroto Sanosuke!” she shouted charging me again. within a split second i stepped forward. she was wide open. my palm caught her in the sternum. She buckled and stumbled backwards. she glared intensly at me.

    “I'LL KILL YOU!!!” she shouted. She glared and her eyes started to changed to deep green and red. becoming more dragonic. On her back a pair of dark green dragon wings sprouted out. a long dark green scale covered tail shot out of her tailbone.

    “Show your true self demon. And I'll kill you where you stand!” she said snapping. her axes reappearing in her hands. But something else happened. Her dress shifted in color. obtaining red and gold flame patterns on the bottom and the sleeves. My eyes widened. She has the same abilities as I do. She glared as blood red flower petals started to surround us. I looked around and glared. My yellow fire form was fading. Damn her. I glared back and drew my sword and shield. I pointed the tip of the blade and started creating a flame aura. my flames started to change to green. it took me by surprise. my sleeves and the bottoms of my now had green flame patterns roared up my arms. My I raised my arms and checked my gauntlets. they now had the kanji of fire and the kanji of wood were now on each.

    “I honestly dont think this is a good idea ruki!” i shouted over to her. she was to lost in rage to talk. I sighed.

    “Then this is what it comes down to. fine. I'll show you!” i said unleashing my demonic nature. My tail and wings springing out of my back and tail bone. my fox ears poping out of the top of my head. We both glared. then charged at full speed. our weapons clashing in a violent flash of flames. Her red petals started to swirl and were razor sharp. i glared and dropped my shield. I raised my hand and summoned up vines form the ground. They wrapped around our legs.

    “I die, I'm takin you with me!” i shouted loudly. she snapped out of her trance. dropping her axes and dropped to her knees. she lowered her wings and was about to say something. her eyes looked at me, truly repentant. As her mouth opened a massive dragon claw shot out of the ground and pulled her down. She looked scared this time. grasping for my hand. I stretched out my own and grabbed her's and pulled hard. She and I struggled to keep her above the ground. but the hand grew stronger and pulled hard. Ruki being dragged down. I just looked at the ground as it closed up.

    “Making a pass at the bosses daughter!?” i heared from above me. I turned my head glaring at the voice. Jonuku. He smiled with that fang filled grin.

    “You don't look too happy to see me,” he said. I stood up and spread my wings.

    “You don't share Ruki's opinion do you? You just want destruction and chaos” i said looking at him.

    “Right on the nose jackass. And i suggest you take the trip to Osaka. Unless you really are the chicken s**t i know you are,” he said jumping from the piller he was standing on. vanishing. I glared and took to the sky. Now that i know that at least one of the dragon's isn't dead set on killing us all, its possible that this vendetta against the world, isn't just a implanted idea in all of them. I flew back to Kira-san's house. I walked in dead set on my things. Kira-san looked at me.

    “Um did you get the milk?” she asked. Marco-kun and Yukino-san both looked at me.

    “Forget that. Everyone get your things together. We're going to Osaka,” I said looking at them. “We have a friend to rescue”
