• Chapter 1
    The Super 8

I knew I was going to die the minute I saw the fleet of enemy ships surrounding me in open space. Well, lets start from the beginning. My name is James and my best friend is Seth. I have dark, black hair and he has sandy, blonde hair. We’re a little different in appearances, but in hobbies, we share an interest. We like to fight crime and basically save the world with our simple, modified spaceship.
We were on a mission to retrieve a liquid substance from the Mace. These guys are like freakish lizard/octopus minions of The Maelstrom. This liquid is called Super 8. If you drink it, it will either burn you to ashes or grant you to unlimited power. The Maelstrom wants to drink Super 8 and destroy the world. Seth and I have to stop him. “I can see a ship!” Seth said.
“Me too! Alright, do you remember the plan?”
“Yes, of course I do. Dock our ship next to the enemy ship and you retrieve the Super 8 while I keep the ship running.”
“Good,” I said with a sigh of relief. Seth presses a button on the dashboard and our ship vanished from existence. Actually, we just turned invisible. Seth hooked our ship next to theirs and the hatch at the top of our ship opened. I climbed up a ladder and jumped into the enemy ship. I was in a cellar that smelled like a sewer that just had diarrhea. I saw another hatch at the top and a ladder right under it. I climbed up and quietly opened the hatch. There was a Mace guard in front of the Super 8 container. He had his back to me, so he couldn’t see me. I was on my feet now, not knowing what to do. I looked around and saw a pole on the ground. I steadily walked over to it and picked it up. I tip toed over to the guard and hit the back of his head with the pole. He fell to the ground unconscious. I grabbed the Super 8 and headed back towards my ship. “Man! That was too easy!” I said as it echoed in the cellar room. I jumped back into my ship and walked over to Seth.
“Wow. That was fast,” Seth said unbelievingly. “Did you get the Super 8?”
“Yeah. Of course I did.” Seth undocked the ship and started to fly away. I walked over to my seat and tripped. As I fell I put out my hands and pressed the button that made us invisible and our ship became visible. Right away ten ships were surrounding us. Now you’re up to speed with everything.
“Nice job you clumsy, old noob.” Seth said. “Now what are we going to do?”
“There’s only one option if we want to survive,” I said. Seth started to think of that one option. I could tell it in his expression. Then he came to his senses.
    “No.”
“It’s the only way.” I walked over to the Super 8 bottle, raised it up to my mouth, and slowly began to drink.
