• The Note

    Chapter 1.

The wind rattled the windows of Newberry Hotel. The rain pouring down on the roof.

Darius happily asleep in the next room, looking innocent his red eyes closed, snoring loudly.

For an eleven year old, he could snore.

Autumn was huddled in her quilt.

Exactly why did their parents think it be great to turn this old church into a hotel?

Then there was a cemetery at the side of this wreck.

The hotel wasn't really a wreck, the black paint was not peeling. The golden door was still shiny and looking brand new still.

Autumn had picked the basement, she just put a bed in and put some posters up, leaving the other things alone.

There was a chest in the corner, but she didn't really care for it.

Maybe she should get to sleep, but who could in this weather?

Maybe a hurricane was coming, who knew?

Slowly she drifted off to sleep, Darius still snoring.

"Wake up!" Autumn's little brother roared.

She rose slowly her eyes on her brother.

"Why did you wake me up?"

"Well, Sherlock, if I am not mistaken, it is past ten."

    "And?" Autumn drawled.

"Um... you see I really didn't think that far." Darius admitted.

"While you think of a good answer, I will be sleeping."

"And miss all the fun?" He moved his dirty blond hair from his eyes, showing the red glowing sparkly eyes of his.

Autumn sat criss-cross on her bed,"What fun?" she questioned him.
