• the smell of rain and cigarette smoke filled the air. as Uruha leaned on his apartment's metal gate porch, he stared into the stars and sucked on his cigarette. the moments of they day flew through him.
    You don't need Kai.
    He's an idiot.
    You can take me back.
    I know how to love.
    He's a b*****d.
    Come to me!

Behind the glass door, in his apartment, a door creaked open and then closed with a slam! Uruha sighed and tapped on his smoke and stood as the sliding glass door opened.
"Is this about Friday?" He stayed facing away. "Because I can pay you back,-"
    "Shut up."
Uruha paused and dropped his cigarette, wanting to turn. Suddenly, a thin rope slithered across his neck. his heart immediately stopped. "What is-"
A hand, cold and clammy, clasped Uruha's lips tightly. "I said shut up."
Slowly, he was being pulled away. Slowly...
    Slowly...

    What is this-
    You don't talk.
What did I do to make this happen!?
    You know.
    WHAM!
    Y-Your hurting me...
    I know, you deserve it.
    Stop!

The Ebony door opened, and Uruha was thrown in the small room, tape on his lips and tied around his arms, wrists and ankles. Bruises decorated his face, with bleeding cuts and swells. Carelessly, the door was slammed, and the last image flew through his mind, of his killer laughing.
He moaned and cried, squirming hopelessly. His hands were sore and he couldn't stand. A cut bled on his forehead, and blood streamed down his face. life felt old and distorted, and he thought he would die, right here.
Past his eyes flew his life. Birth, age, growing up, school, his first guitar, the band, meeting Ruki, being in love... I'm gonna die, I'm only 27! He thought fearfully. My time is over!
The last image to cross his mind was him, his arms around Ruki and Reita, drinking with the guys. Imagining this peaceful place, he closed his eyes. Life was shortening on-hand. He was soon gone. In his mind he saw the day they toasted for Reita's birthday, they all smiled and laughed.
"I love you guys!" He happily said. "I think that we'll be in the band until..."
"Someone kills Kai!" Ruki, not sober, pointed.
    "Why me?" Kai laughed.
    "Yeah, you, Kai!" Uruha'd cheered.
    Kai...
His eyes blinked again to never blink again, the tears that bloomed slowly drying and fading as his breath did.
In his mind he saw it: Kai.
And as his last breath was taken, Kai was standing in the rain outside Uruha's apartment, blood on his hands with a knife and gun.
He looked into the rain, thinking: What have i done!?

"Did you leave him avoicemail?" Reya sipped her wine as she messed with her brown hair.
"I tried, I hope he's ok..." Ami turned, sighing.
"Ruki'll be here soon," Reya slowly wispered back. "He probably knows."
"Y'know, you should have invited Aoi, your brother, to lunch, instead of Ruki."
"Too late," Ruki smiled from behind them, pulling off his sunglasses and flipping his emo-cut black and red hair. He sat between the girls, putting his arm around Reya.
    "Hey Ruki," Ami sighed.
"No 'Ruki' crap!" He muttered. "We're in public."
And then Ami turned to realize this cafe had a full house. Eyes were already on them.
"Hey babe," Reya began. "Um, where's Kai?"
"I've been trying to get a hold of him and Uruha all morining!" Ruki groaned.
"I hope he's ok..." Ami looked away.
Reya snorted. "Who? Lover boy or Sir Ex?"
"Both." Ami narrowed her eyes. "I know Uruha's mean because of how he reecently acted..."
"And he raped my girlfriend," Ruki snapped. "And you dated him for six months. And he's a player."
"Just keep him in the band." Ami hissed.
    "Kai's descision."
Suddenly, a ringtone sounded. Ruki pulled his phone up. "Thats Kai." He flipped the phone open.
    "Hello?"
    "Hey Kai..."
    "Um, Ruki, I found Uruha."
    Found? "Ok, is he fine?"
    "Ruki..."
    "hm?"
Kai's voice became teary and scared. "Ruki... Uruha's dead..."
Ruki opened his mouth, then closed it. "Wh... Kai, what do you mean?"
"Come to his house. Tell Rei and Aoi to come too."
Ruki lowered his head and felt tears stream down his face. "Okay..." He closed the phone and stood, putting on his sunglasses. "Come on."
Ami stood silently and confused. "What?" She asked.
Ruki just manouvered through the resturaunt and ignored her asking. He opened the door, when suddenly Reya's arms fell around him.
"Ruki... I don't like seeing you sad... Please tell me..."
Ruki almost didn't speak. His lips moved evenly and quietly. "...Uruha's dead."

Once the car was in park, the girls swung the doors open. Ruki sat in the car silently, turning up the radio.
"...Band The GazettE faced a tradgedy today when their guitarist Uruha was founs shot, stabbed and dead in his apartment. The cause, wether knife or gun, is still unknown and being found out. The cops are on the case and..."
Reya leaned in and shut the radio off. Ruki just sat in the driver's seat, motionless. Only air moved solidly between his lips. She pulled him out of the car so he was standing and took off his glasses, looking in his eyes.
"Ruki," She touched his cheek. "Listen, it's okay. It'll be-"
"Uruha is dead..." He took her hand, avoiding her eyes. "Dead...!"
She leaned on him, wrapping her arms around him tightly. "It's okay..."
"Baby... He's dead..." He kept repeating. "Oh my god... Just wednsday he was with us... Just yesterday he was drinking with me... just..." He put his arms around her, too.
    "Be happy." Reya sniffed.
Suddenly, in the midst of the rain and tears, reita came trotting up. "Ruki, c'mon... Kai needs to see you."
Ruki looked up. "I'll be right back."
    "I want to come,-"
Ruki gently kissed her, just long enough for her to realize he needed to see just the guys. He putted away, staring at her with fear in his eyes. "I'll be right back," He repeated. "I love you."
Before Reya could tell him the same, he was running through the closed parking lot with Reita.
Ami wandered to Reya, putting her arm around Reya. "Remember in fifth grade when Aoi said he'd never see a dead body?"
just ahead was Aoi, leaning on the wet concrete, face in his hands. occaisonally he looked up, but then back down.
"And now his own band member..." Reya sighed. "You know, I didn't like him all that much, but..."
Ami hugged her. "He doesn't deserve this."

"Whoever did this to my best friend," Reita growled. "I will personally kill."
    "Aoi, is this happening...?"
He looked up at Ruki. "I... I think so."
Kai stared at his own crime scene. They don't know I did this, He thought. How could i! This is... Kai didn't finish the thought. Outside his mind, he heard voices.
    "Kai, you ok?" Reita.
    "Hey, Kai." Manager-San.
    "Kai!" Ruki.
Kai closed his eyes and fell to his knees, tears falling rapidly. He couldn't stand seeing the body. His heart was thudding. Uruha, just yesterday, was alive, smiling, dreaming, and now, because of Kai...
Aoi wrapped his arms around Kai. He leaned on his friend, and Ruki tried to say it would be fine, but kept choking. It wont be fine.
Kai hid his face in his hands and tightly closed his eyes. In his mind, all he could see was murder. He built up strength, anger and pain and clutched his head, and looked away.
    "Uruha!"
