• tab I ran up the steps, white marble crumbling beneath my feet. The sky was dark, malicious black clouds beating upon the Moon's face. I tripped, landing on my knees. I cried out, and folded into myself, hands trembling violently.
tab "Hello, my dear," A voice crooned. It was smooth and soft, dark and velvety. It was his voice. His. My stomach clenched, and I smashed my fist against the marble. I watched the blood drip down my knuckles, then I flashed to my feet.
tab In seconds I had him pinned against a pillar. My blood ran cold. Marco's face was looking back at me.. his sweet brown eyes. His pale face, his soft lips. Then I realized those lips were snarling at me. Marco wasn't capable of snarling. He was too gentle. Wouldn't even defend himself against this son of a b***h.
tab I snapped back into reality and smashed his head against the cold stone. His head lolled forward, and Connor smirked at me. His blue eyes were frigid and small, and he laughed in my face.
    tab Hell. No.
tab "Why did you kill him?!" He laughs, I punch. "He didn't do anything to you!" He spits, and I punch. My hands started to shake, and I screamed, my voice grating against the inside of my throat like sandpaper. I threw him to the ground.
tab "My, my, Delayna. You have gotten strong." Connor rolled onto his back and lounged, folding his arms behind his head.
tab I could feel my face twisting in rage. "Why."
tab "Why? Well, why should you care?" He asked back, nonchalant. "You're just going to kill yourself."
tab My eyes flashed open, and I sat up so quickly my neck cracked. I panickedly smacked the bed, searching... Searching.
tab "Hey, hey! Baby, what are you doing?"
tab "Marco!" I gasped out, tears of relief falling down my face. I burrowed into his arms, shaking with sobs.
tab He held me tight, and his arms felt like home.
tab "What's wrong?" He asked. "Bad dreams?"
tab I looked up into Marco's face. His eyes were an ugly, frigid shade of blue.
    tab I screamed.
