• In Clover Kingdom, many rumors spread about this town. But in the end,the young king dismisses them all as rumors.
“I have no time to worry about such trivial matters”;he would say, gesturing for the speaker to leave. “Now if you had real news then maybe I would listen.”
The young king was 18 years old. His parents had died very young and left him with Clover Kingdom. He was a handsome man, too. He had a perfect skin tone, pale like a china doll. His facial features were delicate. But his eyes were dark black,as black as the night sky. They say his loneliness swells them up in a dark cloud. As with his heart.
But enough about him. Back with the story.
It was October 31st,the day of darkness. On this day, everyone in the kingdom is either told to stay in their houses,or invited to the castle. This day was given it's name, because those invited to the castle usually disappear. When they walk off,it seems as if they are swallowed by the dark sky. Not once has anyone returned.
Some say the people who go were killed on the way to the castle. Some say that the young king would use them as his servants. But either way,I was scared when I received an envelope with the royal seal, inviting me to spend the day of darkness at the castle with the young king.
It was written on fine paper, on the bottom the king's signature, in fine red ink. The whole paper smelled wonderful, like roses.
To the bearer of this letter:
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Clover Kingdom's castle on the 31st of October. I would love to see you and your beautiful face here in my palace. I do sincerely wish you come. Come as soon as darkness falls, and do not bring anyone or anything with you.
From The King of Clover Kingdom

I slipped out the door as the sky blackened. In one hand I held a candle on a silver holder. The trees rustled in the background, and my candle formed an eerie glow around me. I trembled as I walked down the winding and seemingly endless path to the castle. Even with my glowing light, all I could see was black. Everywhere. I must admit,I was scared. But the walk to the castle and everything else couldn't compare to what happened when I reached the Clover castle.

I knocked on the door of the castle. The large statues outside no longer seemed beautiful, more frighting. They seemed to be staring right at you,and tracing you with their eyes.
The large doors opened widely. I saw the young king perfectly dressed in a black suit. He had a slight grin on his mouth, but his face was serious. “Won't you come in,my dear?”, he said. I walked in and looked around.
The walls were covered with heads. Heads of animals. Bears, dragons, and other creautres. But that wasn't the worst. At the end of the hall, there was a large hourglass, filled with red sand. Above the hourglass was a clock, dripping in red.
The young king looked into my eyes, leaned over, and whispered in my ear, “There's nothing to be scared of.” But I felt scared. My heart beat in rhythm with the clock. Tick, tick, tick, tick, ticktick.
“The clock gets faster as midnight nears.”,he said, smiling. I shifted my step. He then opened a door, into a dark room. He lit the chandelier. The whole room was black, with red splotches everywhere. On the walls,on the floor, everywhere. Only one chair was in the room. And even in this room I could hear the clock ticking. Tickticktickticktickticktick......
“Why don't you sit down?”,he told me. I did. “Now have a drink.” He handed me a glass filled with a black liquid. “Drink it all,my darling.” I did,but slowly. As I did, he paced around the chair, grinning wickedly. I put down my glass, then felt a sharp pain in my back. I screamed.
Was I sweating? I touched my back, then looked at my hand. It was bright red.
“Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my GOD!”,I yelled, and started breathing heavily. All I could feel was pain when...
STAB. He drove a long knife into my side. I hollered.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”,I cried. “WHAT DID I DRINK?”
    “Ahaha,poison. Poison and blood.”
    “You're...SICK!”
“Be quiet darling, and I may let you live.”
    “No,wait! Sir!”
    STAB.
    “You're MAD!
    “If I don't kill you,the poison will.”
All I could hear know was the clock ticking, faster and faster. I cried out.
I tried to stand up,but I was too weak. Blood poured out of my back and side.
    Suddenly,the clock chimed. Dong.
    He put the knife in
    Dong. Dong.
    He pushed it in further
    Dong. Dong. Dong.
    I screamed.
    Dong.
I began to feel my heart slow down.
    Dong. Dong.
I began to struggle to pull myself up.
    Dong.
I tried to yell, but couldn't find the energy.
    Dong.
    I couldn't move. At all.
    Dong.
The last thing I saw were those dark, cloudy eyes, and a sharp grin.
    “Goodbye.”
