     Cutsene 1

    Darkness…
    Gunshots.
    Explosions.
    Screaming.
    Nothing…

You awake to the sound of a creaking hinge. You look around, but see nothing. You think you are lying on the ground. You stand up. You stumble forward- and slam into a wall! Finally, you open your eyes. For some reason, however, you had thought that it would be useless. Nicely enough, though, you see four walls, and a door, slightly ajar, and letting in a little, flickering light. You turn and walk to it. You push it open a little further, and cautiously look out. You relax when you see an empty hallway, until you realize, why is it empty? You slowly continue out. You see a sign directly in front of you, and hallway leading to your right and to your left. Here, you have a choice.

     Play Mode

Essentially, you have five choices. 1) Look at the sign 2) choose left, without information 3) choose right, without information 4) Go back into the dark room or 5) Do nothing.
    (Hint: choose #1)
    (1) You read the sign. It says:

    Cells 100 - 130 ►
    ◄ Stairway
    ◄ Cells 131 – 150
    ◄ Experimental Detention Laboratories

You go right. As you walk down the hallway, you see into several cells. There are bodies in almost every single cell. Empty cells clearly had bodies at some point. Some cells even had several bodies in each. Some bodies looked as though they had been eaten off of… You reach the one at the end of the hallway, and the end cell is open… You notice the glint of a gun in the cell, so you go to retrieve it… Clank! The cell shuts behind you. You turn immediately, but are unable to catch sight of what shut the cell. You look around frantically, but your focus finally rests on the gun, and you pick it up. You check it, but its empty. You reason that at least you can use it to bludgeon someone. Then you see the box of ammo, so you reload the gun. You hear the jangling of keys, and turn around and see this thing… It looks like it used to be a human, but the only sign of that is the vague physical resemblance, and a little bit of human cunning. You reach for the keys, but it pulls them back before you can get them. You point the gun at it, as a warning. It laughs a harsh, torn laugh, and says:

You do that, my friend, and you lose all chance of escape…

    Two choices:
Shoot the beast; you’ll be able to retrieve the keys, eventually.
Bargain with the clearly intelligent creature; you’ll be able to give it something in return for the keys.

You decide to bargain with it. You ask, “what do I have to do to get those keys?”
    “Return me to normal…”
“I don’t know if I can, so is there anything else?”
“Return me to normal, or kill me so that I die with some dignity...”
“Release me, and I can do the second one.”
    “How?”
“Assuming you want a death of fighting back, a warrior’s death, I will give you a fair fight to the death.”
    “That would work great...”
    “That’s good.”
    “Here, let me… There!”
    “Ok, ready?”
    “For- Oh! Yeah...”
    “Go!”

The beast attacks, but you fend it off just in time. You aim the gun, and shoot it in the head. You go and pick up the keys from the dead thing. You check for more stuff, but that was all it had. You head toward the other end of the hallway, keys in hand. You pass the sign again, and then start to see more cells. The situation here is the same as the other end. You reach the very end of the hallway, and see a door. You try it, but it’s locked. You’re not surprised. You see that there is only one standard key; all the rest are skeleton keys. You chuckle at this observation. You try the standard key on the door lock, and it works! On the other side of the door, you see a stairway leading up, and one leading down. There is a sign by the door, and it says that the experimental facilities are down, and the exit is up.
Your curiosity makes the better of you, and you go downstairs. As you proceed, you hear moans, groans, and the crackling of electricity. You look through a window, and see a body lying on a table, dead and bleeding. You look closer, and you notice that the wounds are highly unusual. Instead of the skin being folded in, it sticks up off the edge of the wound. Then you see the large object above the body. You realize that there has been a hum coming from the room. You see that there are small objects hanging from the large object, which is clearly a giant electromagnet. All of a sudden, a spark flies nearby, and the humming stopped. You see all the small objects fall from the device. They fall upon the body, and it grunts. You back away from the window, and a warm, but sweaty hand grabs your shoulder! You pull away and point the gun in the person’s face, prepared to shoot. At that moment, a chill of recognition runs down your spine. You lower the gun, and ask, “Who are you?”
“You obviously already know that, if you are lowering the gun.”
“No, something just tells me to trust you… Though, I’m not sure what…“
“I am a coworker of yours. My name is Veronika.”
“Do you know who I am? I don’t remember anything important about myself… or this place.”
“You don’t? Well, I know that your name is Matthias… How the heck were you able to point that gun in my face, anyway?”
“You’re right there. What are you talking about?”
“Last I knew, you were blind, and they never trusted you with a gun…”
    “I was blind?”
    “Yeah. But apparently not anymore…”
A grunt is clearly heard in the distance. Veronika grasps your wrist and starts running, dragging you along. You make sure to keep a good grip on the gun and begin running at the same pace as her. She then lets go of your wrist and commands, “Make sure you go the same way as I go.”
You follow her right, then left, then right, then two lefts. You come to an elevator. You join Veronika in the elevator. She presses a button, and the doors close. The elevator begins to go down.
