• CHAPTER EIGHT: SICK

I looked around Eichi's bedroom nervously, feeling the glowing wound pulse. Eichi's eyes looked sadly into mine, like he was trying to get a message through to me. I finally broke the silence.

"Can you... suck... the venom... out...?" I uttered, brushing the wound lightly with my fingertips.

"Anything for you, Ayu-my-Love," he replied as he set his mouth to the wound. A shudder creeped down my spine as the venom seeped out my wound and into Eichi's mouth. I was afraid he'd die from the venom, but I forced the thought out of my mind.

After about five minutes, Eichi pulled away. "I think it's all gone, Ayu," he said triumphantly. I sighed and smiled, wrapping him up into a hug. I dug my face into his shoulder and replied, "Thank you," and he nodded. I pulled away and unintentionally looked at his bottom lip. There was a very noticeable scar in the middle of it.

"Uh, Eichi, what's the scar on your lower lip from?" I asked, my face showing concern. He chuckled loudly.

"I tried to eat a stapler when I was two," he replied, grinning cutely. I giggled.

"Well, the scar suits you. Y'know, makes you look bold, daring, brave, or all..." I started to announce, suddenly feeling nauseaous. I ran to the bathroom, fortunately with Eichi following me, and quickly flipped up the toilet seat. I dropped to my knees in front of the toilet and groaned. Just before the bile actually came out my mouth, Eichi pulled my hair back. The vomit dripped into the toilet as I moaned. He rubbed my back in small circles to reassure me I was fine, but I felt more violently creeping up my throat.

I groaned and feebly held my stomach, hearing the vomit enter the toilet. Eichi rested his hand on my shoulder and I flushed the toilet after I felt I was done. I stood up and brushed my teeth. My throat felt sore and raw, like it just got cut. After I finished brushing my teeth, I grabbed Eichi's hand and trotted back to his bed. I slipped under the covers as Eichi put a garbage can next to the bed on my side, just in case I vomited again. He climbed in next to me and pulled me close. I smiled and kissed him on the lips. I didn't care what my breath smelled like, and Eichi probably didn't either, because we loved each other no matter what.

He bit my neck softly without warning and I flinched. We should have sat up, because blood dripped down my neck and onto my clothes, so I could smell it perfectly. My nausea slowly started coming back as he consumed more. I tore myself free of his grasp and leaned over the side of the bed, vomiting into the garbage can. Eichi rested his hands in the small of my back as I hacked once more.

My nausea hadn't gone away, plus I started feeling light-headed. I turned back to Eichi once I felt done and groaned. "Are you okay, Ayu?" He asked, his face filled with concern. I nodded and rolled onto my back. "How'd I get sick?" I groaned. As if he knew the answer.

"Well, when you get purple bites like that, you could be sick with the stomach flu from two days to two weeks," he explained. I sighed, rolled over towards the edge of the bed, and vomited into the garbage can yet again. My stomach churned loudly, and I hacked again. I groaned loudly and rolled back towards Eichi, who was frowning. "Wha... What's wrong...?" I stammered, feeling even more nauseous. "Well, you're sick. I can't be happy if you're vomiting and I'm not," he replied. Then he bit me again, trying to keep all the blood in his mouth. Some drops dribbled onto my neck and it sizzled a little bit. My nausea got worse than ever.

"Let go... Eichi..." I groaned. He did what I said and I heaved into the garbage can a lot. I burped and a little more trickled out my mouth. Suddenly, my vertigo lifted. My nausea, however, stayed bad as ever. I stood up from the bed and stumbled down the stairs. Eichi glided down behind me, and explained to Takuto when he thought I wasn't listening, "She vomited six times, Takuto. She still isn't feeling well at all, so I think we'll have to take her to the hospital."
