• Their Secret Language

Summary: Rukia’s mad at Ichigo. How does she fix it? Easy!(Lock him out of his house!)

A/N: Happy New Year! I realize this isn’t probably one of my best, but I wanted to do a little something. Afterall, I doubt Rukia and Ichigo would be fun to write about if they didn’t bicker.Language is at times offensive (but it wouldn't be Ichigo without it).Enjoy being buried alive by the snowy fluff that is IchigoxRukia.

Ichigo walked to his closet (which Rukia had stubbornly claimed as her room) and gave an annoyed sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. He glared at the mess before him: blankets in disarray, an army of Chappi toys and shoujo manga careless thrown into the corner.

“Can’t she act like a girl for once?!” He swore under his breath as he cleaned up her mess, suddenly jumping back as her manga hit the floor in a tidal wave. Trying to remain calm he gently (with the force of an anger bear) piled the books back into the corner of the closet when he noticed a little blue notebook. Wary, he picked it up and opened it, scanning through its pages. His eyes grew wide in shock.

    Her personal journal.

Well, this was unsuspected. Curious, he read on and couldn’t help noticing the repeating pattern, or more precisely, the only thing mentioned was Renji. For some reason that made him slightly mad (actually, extremely mad) considering he had just rescued her from Soul Society and he was not even mentioned once.

He wanted to be called a ‘hero’ or at least be seen favorable in her eyes, like a knig-

Hell no! It didn’t matter what she thought of him. He didn’t need her approval or anything which was why he was closing the journal…slowly closing the journal. He was able to get a glimpse of the next page and immediately reopened the journal at seeing his name.

He felt his heart beat a little faster now.

‘Ichigo is a fool. Yesterday, he almost got killed by a Hollow. Luckily I was there-‘

He slammed it shut in fury. He put it back in the corner and walked to his desk, opening the drawer, pulling out a Chappi necklace. He had bought it on impulse thinking she might like it. It wasn’t her birthday or anything so he felt awkward about giving it to her.

“Not like it’ll gain me anything.”

Unsatisfied, he placed it back in the drawer, heading to pick up Rukia from school.

    ( -_-#)

Ichigo saw Rukia laughing with Renji as he approached them, not noticing the clenching of his fists.

“Oi, move it, Rukia.” Ichigo grumbled. Rukia gave a nod and said her goodbyes happily.

“Ichigo, what’s wrong?” Rukia increased her pace a little and noticed the grim look on his face.

    “Nothing,” his tone uncaring.

“Ichigo,” she crossed her arms unconvinced, stopping.

Ichigo stopped and glared down at her. Was she that blind?! It was bad enough he had to see her gloat about Renji in her journal, but even worse to see it real life.

“Nothing, damn it!” he snapped, regretting his actions at her shocked and hurt expression. Feeling uncomfortable he started to walk away.

“Ichigo!” she grabbed his arm, “Why are you acting like this?”

The shock of her warm hand made him feel unsteady and he smacked it away.

He bet that she probably held hands with Renji already since they were such close friends. Afterall, Renji was so great and he probably was a great kisser too! Ichigo thought with bitter sarcasm. The words of her journal echoed in his mind and he felt the anger boil inside his heart.

    Ichigo is a fool.

“ Why don’t you just go back to Renji?! I bet you don’t think he’s fool when he’s fighting Hollows! He probably even protects you better than I ever did!”

Her eyes went wide with fury, her tone full of disbelief, “You read my journal!”

“Yeah, well, you should learn to act like a girl then and stop leaving messes!”

Rukia felt her temper rage inside her at how he blind he was to everything.

She lifted her hand and muttered a Kidou word, taking aim at his hand.

Ichigo sensed the tense change and turned around, barely dodging the spell. It left a burnt mark in the snow and he turned, glaring at her.

“What the hell was that for?!”

Rukia tilted her chin, defiant, “Just making sure you and your hands don’t touch my journal again, fool!”

“I outta-!” Ichigo stopped short as she walked passed him, ignoring his very existence. He watched her turn the corner and he followed her to the house. Angry at himself, he stared at the ground counting his footsteps instead, trying to calm down. It wasn’t her fault.

At least he felt that way until he hit the front door.

“Ow! Damn it!” He stepped down and held his nose which throbbed with pain. He was so busy with his thoughts he hadn’t noticed the door was closed. How long had it been that she felt the need to close the door to keep out the cold-?

    *Wait…

It hadn’t even been five mintues…

He suddenly had a bad feeling as he reached for the doorknob, which to his dismay, did not turn.

She had locked him out of his own house!

Furious, he walked to the front yard and saw her in his window, smirking. Rukia opened the window with ease and seemed unfazed by his misfortune.

“Rukia, I’m going to kill you! Let me in, damn it!” He felt the cold dance across his face.

“It’s about time you learned of the word ‘decency’, Ichigo,” Rukia crossed her arms over her chest, looking down at him.

“The hell I do! You’ve locked me out of my own house! I’ve done nothing wrong here!”

“Really, now? You looked through my journal.”

“Then hide it better!” Ichigo glared back at her.

“Hmph. Locking you out means you won’t get a chance to look for it again,” Rukia smirked as Ichigo fumed with fury.

“Rukia, this isn’t funny and you damn well know it!”*

Rukia’s gaze soften, “ I know, but you won’t understand any other way, fool.”

As Rukia slammed the window shut, Ichigo stood dumbfounded. What was that suppose to mean.

Exhausted and annoyed, he turned his back towards the house, watching the night sky begin to form. In those silent moments he began to regret, even feel sorry, for looking into her journal.

    Almost.

Suddenly, a snowball hit the back of his head hard. Agitated, he whipped around to see Rukia toss another up into the air and catching it again.

    She smirked, “Sorry yet?”

He felt relief flood through him.

“Yeah, right,” he grumbled as he began to walk past her to get to the house, only to be greeted with another snowball to the back of the head.

“Would you-!” He was ready for battle until he saw her hand clasped tightly, something dangling from it.

    The necklace!

**He glared, trying to hide his embarrassment, “That was private.”

“Oh, I didn’t know you liked Chappi necklaces. You must feel so handsome wearing it,” Rukia stated with a straight face, but a smile slowly began to form.

“Like hell I do,” he replied gruffly to her teasing. He rather be damned then admit it was for her now.

Rukia smiled. She knew he wasn’t going to say anything about. Well, fine, she wasn’t going to admit she was happy about the gift either.

Smirking, she tossed another snowball at his face, “Fool!”

    Thank you.

Ichigo felt himself smile abit as she walked past him. He would have to return the favor now, wouldn’t he?

He made a snowball and threw it at the back of her head.

She whipped around, confused and angry, until she saw his smirk. She smirked back, satisfied.

    You’re welcome.

They walked back to the house, bickering all the way, using their secret language that they knew best.**
