• Mira and Wolf, chapter 1
    Please tell me, I'm here...

Mira sat down on her bed, listening to music on her laptop. She smiled as her favorite band came on, Triple 5 was the best. Their song Never Surrender was soon blasting in her room as she laughed, and smiling. They always had the best meaning in their songs. "Mira!" her father called, dinner time. She sighed, turning off her music and heading down stairs. She ate slowly, letting her mind drift, back to a few weeks ago, when she had made the best choice of her life, also the hardest.

Mira sighed, getting up and dressing quickly. The morning passed quickly, and the next thing she paid attention to she was setting her bag down at her table, laughing with her friends. They poked her, laughing when Wolf poked her from behind. Mira jumped, blushing as he laughed, going and sitting at his table next to Armu. She blushed as her friends teased her, saying Mira liked him. "I DO NOT!" she yelled, chasing them. Mira sighed when the bell rang, heading to her English class. Other kids stared at her, in her red shirt, blue jeans, green eyes, and white hair.

Mira was the niece of Sesshomaru, the greatest known Demon in Japan. The rift between the two had not ceased, and she was a half demon, scorn in her uncle’s eyes, and most others. Her friends accepted her, and so did Wolf. Wolf was a half demon like her, and was rumored to be a good singer, good enough to be in Triple 5. If that rumor was true, then that would explain why Triple 5 never had a concert, never showed their face, and why fans made the music videos.

"Pull out your journals and a pencil. You will listen to a song by Triple 5 and write about its meaning, to yourself as well as its meaning in general." the teacher told them. Mira covered her ears as the class cheered at who the band was. Triple 5 was very popular, and every girl wished to know who was behind that "beautiful" voice. The song started when the class quieted. It was a good song, The Last Night about a girl who tried to end her pain.
Mira's breath caught at the first few notes of a keyboard, and she looked at her arm. The scars were still there, barely visible, but there. She thought about why she had, and felt the familiar urge to cry, but hide her pain. She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm as she began to write. She wrote down everything, what she felt, how she was hurt, even what she used. The quiet part of the song came on, and she blinked back tears. She had tried that, tried to end it, and Wolf had saved her. She picked up the paper, unable to stay in the room longer. She went out to the hall, and fell against the wall, not able to hold it anymore. She slid to the ground and pulled her knees to her chest. She bent her head down and cried

The teacher tried to comfort her, but it didn’t help. Soon she left for the class. Mira stayed where she was, crying softly and stopped after about 10 minutes. She was just sat there, remembering everything.

Wolf was running to class, late again, when he found her. "Mira? Are you ok? What happened?" he asked her. She only shook her head, hiding the paper in her sleeve. She took a deep breath, calming down and looked at him. Her eyes were slightly puffy, and her face was a little red from crying and trying to be quiet. He smiled softly at her, glad to see she wasn’t crying now. "Tell me what’s wrong Mira." he said again.

"The teacher put on a song, by Triple 5....she put on...." she couldn’t finish, and rubbed her arm where the faint scars where. She let him guess, trying hard not to cry in front of him.

"The Last Night?" he asked softly, and hugged her when she nodded. Mira blushed slightly, not wanting to pull away, and not wanting to be there. "Its fine, I’m right here, and no one but us knows that you did. And I’m the only one that knows what you tried." he continued, not wanting to hurt her. They both knew that she wouldn’t be here if he hadn't stepped in.
She nodded, pulling away. "I’m fine Wolf, shouldn’t you get back to class?" she asked standing and putting her old 'I don’t care, be on your way' act on that she had pick up from her uncle.

Wolf nodded, standing and picking up his stuff. "Are you sure you're ok?" he asked, looking at her, he knew it was only an act.

"I’m fine! Go to class Wolf!" she said, picking up her stuff. She didn’t want rumors spreading that she-the most unpopular girl- was going out with Wolf-the most popular boy in the city-and they were dating. She didn’t want that, and it would be better if he just left. Wolf grabbed Mira's arm gently, and was surprised when she snatched it away. "Don't! Go to class!" she said again. She was pushing him away again, and he didn't like it.

"I was only trying to help!" he said in defense, no too happy she was so rude.

"I didn't ask for your help!" she said, staring at him, daring him to make a comeback

    "Ungrateful dog!"

    "Mangy wolf!"

    "Brat!"

    "Dip s**t!"

"Princess!" Wolf countered, knowing how much she hated that.

"Shut up you Half-Breed!" she said back, instantly regretting it. She didn’t need to be so rude to him, he was only trying to help, and she had done the worst, called him a half-breed, the one name he hated. "Wolf I...I’m sorry." she tried to touch him

Wolf took his arm away and didn’t look at her "Fine. I’ll go. bye." he said, walking off with his head down and shoulders slouched. Mira stood; shocked that she had used that against him. His voice tone, posture, and eyes told her everything: she had hurt him deeply. He walked away and she looked down, falling to the ground and feeling horrible. He had only been trying to help, and she had pushed him away again.

"I’m so stupid!" Mira said to herself "he will never forgive me for that." she began to cry again. She didn’t want lunch to come. First period passed quickly, and she went to science, not feeling well. The kids made fun of Mira for being a half demon, and living with Sesshomaru, because she had nowhere else to go. Her parents were still in America, and she couldn’t do anything about her heritage. Mira sighed, she hopped they would come home soon, and take her away. Her only reason for not running away was because Wolf actually tried to talk to her. She sighed, dreading lunch when she got to fifth period. Wolf looked at her, and quickly away before taking his seat. She looked down, hurt, and went to her seat. She didn’t want to be here today, or tomorrow. Finally the lunch bell rang, and she stood, running out and jumping on her friends back, trying to get her mind off Wolf for once.

Wolf watched Mira, feeling horrible. She was trying to get her mind off him, and he knew it, but seeing her put on that plastic smile hurt. He had been the one to pick up the pieces when she had been hurt, the one to save her countless times, and she had made him a promise, to never cut again. He sighed and laughed as his friend InuYasha tried to punch his shoulder. InuYasha was a half demon as well, and Sesshomaru's brother at that. He laughed as his old time friend pulled his ears. InuYasha always cheered him up, and he smiled, still feeling horrible. He looked ahead at the girls, and sighed as he saw Songo fending off Miroku. "Can't you last five minutes! Stupid Womanizer!" Mira yelled, and wolf laughed.

'She must think I will never forgive her, the baka' he thought to himself as he stood in line, a few people were between the two and he smiled to himself, thinking about her, unfortunately InuYasha was also looking at Kagome and smiling, he looked at wolf for a moment before chuckling to himself.

"Thinking' bout Mira Wolf?" InuYasha asked with a stupid smirk on his face.

Wolf glared for a moment as InuYasha turned back to watch Kagome, and he smirked, the perfect comeback. "Starring at Kagome's a**?" he asked, watching InuYasha’s face redden. He chuckled as InuYasha turned to him, attempting one of Sesshomaru's 'going-to-kill-you-now' glares.

"Shut your trap Wolf boy." he said, turning away. He sighed, and shook his head "Prepare to be fan-girls." he warned as Wolf's apparent "fan club" came up.

Wolf sighed and looked at Mira, pleading. She turned her head, not caring as he was attacked by the girls. She looked down as the girls pushed Wolf against the wall and one stood on her tiptoes, kissing him full on the lips. Mira saw this and turned away holding back tears. She could hear his comment, the one she had always dreaded to here. She felt her heart rip as she heard that sentence.

Wolf was shocked, and thought of his best excuse "What the ********! Don’t kiss me!" when one of the girls asked why he came back quickly "I have a girlfriend!" he yelled, looking over at the group of girls. He saw Mira suddenly break from the group and run off as the other girls stared at him accusingly. He gulped, watching the as fan girls moved to the back of the line. He saw the other boys looking at him, a few somewhat harshly. "What did I do!" he asked, confused as to why everyone had suddenly turned on him.

"who." InuYasha asked, making the girls come to where they were.

"n-no one...it was a lie so they would get off me and stop chasing me." Wolf whispered, glad his friends could hear him without having to say it loud enough for a few random girls to here.

"Go tell that to Mira!" Sango whispered back, glaring.

"Why should I tell her? She knows I don’t!"

"Because she likes you!" everyone said at the same time. Wolf blinked in surprise as he looked down, realizing his mistake too late.

    "s**t!" he whispered.
