• Taylor sat at her desk, typing away on her computer. She was wearing the same clothes I saw her in before, only her hair is actually brushed. She turns her head sharply, as if she heard something. Everything is quiet for a moment and Taylor brushed it off, looking back at her computer. Suddenly, I hear it too. It sounded like something breaking as it hit the floor. Taylor stands up quietly and looks around the study. She takes an umbrella that is leaning against the filing cabinet to her right. Slowly, she paces down the hallway that leads to the kitchen. Taylor jumps out and looks around the kitchen, but no one is there. Her eyebrows knit together as she drops her umbrella to her side and looks on the ground at the broken vase.
Suddenly, something touches her ankle her eyes open wide and looks down at her foot but nothing is there. So why can she feel something around it? Suddenly, she is being dragged on the floor by nothing. She tries to get a grip on something but she can’t; nothing is in reach. She screams but no one can hear her. She gets dragged into her room and her door slams shut. The smell of something caught her nose. It was a terrible, dreadful smell. She gets up as quick as she can and reaches for the door but it won’t budge, like it locked from the outside, except the lock is on the inside...
She turns and looks around her room. The first thing she noticed is the rope; hanging from her fan. Goosebumps jump around on her body and she pushed herself against the door. She feels something tugging against her hand and then suddenly it pulls her onto the floor. The rope is all the way down to the floor, lightly touching the carpet. Taylor screams again, yelling for someone to help her but it’s useless. The invisible thing shoves her head into the loop that is made in the rope. She struggles but she can’t control her own body movements. The pressure on her hands stop, but she still can’t move them. The rope gets tighter around her neck and she realizes that it’s being brought up. Her hands get released and she pulls against the rope but it gets higher and higher. Before she knows it, she’s standing up.
The tears falling on her face go onto her mouth and she can taste the salt. Her sobs get choked as the rope tightens and she stands on her tip toes. And then her feet hang in the air and her sobs turn into sounds of grunts and chokes. Her fingers still pry helplessly at the rope but she knows it’s hopeless. Her hands fall and she stares off into nowhere. The light, her light, fades…
