• He was very well known due to his tendency of moving from one girl to another within days. The way it usually worked was that he fluffed up the girl’s ego and tore down her defenses. Then, after ‘using’ his item, he got bored, tossed it away, and never looked back, finding something else to interest him. He thought that he’d never let a girl drag him into a long term relationship and he was quite happy with that. He thought that he was supposed to be the one who would mess with emotions… that was until, he laid eyes on her. He didn’t know what it was about her. Maybe it was her short, brown hair or her beautiful, green eyes or the way she seemed shy and confident all at once, but, for the first time in a long time, he was at a loss with what he should do.

He watched her from a fair distance, pretending he wasn’t interested in her, but his heart thumped so hard in his chest every time he glanced at her and seemed to see a golden light or light sparkles surrounding her as if she were an angel or had just used magic to make herself look that way. It thumped so hard that he thought it would just push its way right out of him. One day, he spotted a gorgeous flower and his thoughts were immediately on her. He bought the flower and decided he would talk to her as soon as he saw her. So lost in his thoughts, he accidentally bumped into her. He immediately became speechless as she pointed out the beauty of the rose in his hand. At a loss for words and his cheeks starting to flush, he held the rose towards her, telling her she could have it and stammering a bit as he did so.

She knew of this boy and this was the first time she had met him face to face. She took the flower with grace and wondered if this was indeed the boy everyone told stories of. She doubted it because of how she noticed the way he was blushing and stammering as if he was new at this ‘talking to girls’ thing, but when he told her his name, her eyebrows rose in shock. It WAS him. She felt nervous to talk to him, knowing his true intentions, but couldn’t help thinking something in him was changing. He asked her if she would like something to eat and she politely denied him. He just nodded with slight disappointment and went on his way. She stared at the flower and smiled a little as she too went on her way.

A few weeks later, they happened upon each other again. This time, she had bumped into him due to the fact she could not stop thinking about him. He smiled gently and she just had to smile back, noticing for the first time how his brown eyes looked into hers with such care. She quickly said yes without thought, pulling a look of confusion from him. She blushed and responded by saying that she was thinking about changing her answer to getting that something to eat and he smiled again.

He nodded and held out his hand to her. She held it as he gently pulled her somewhere. She noticed her surroundings when he let go of her hand. She looked at him, seeing that he was picking up a flower. He paid the vendor and walked back over to her, a light blush already on his cheeks. He handed her the flower and said, “Let’s get you that something to eat.” She looked at the flower in her hand and decided that roses were now her favorite kinds of flowers as they toward a restaurant, both with their cheeks very pink. They were going to do just fine.
