• Luna woke up and uncurled her body, stretching out to relieve her muscles. The rain had become softer, and soon the rain stopped. Luna used her foreleg to wipe the wolf bed away, in case anyone saw it and came after her. She stretched one more time and took a mouthful of snow, letting it melt in her mouth to quench her thirst.
"As long as snow is still on the ground, I will never be thirsty, but I still need to find food." Luna whispered into the wind. She started walking. Luna sniffed the air for any possible food. She saw a berry bush and walked over. What are these? She sniffed them and picked one with her teeth. Luna spat it out.
"Those are disgusting!" she spat. Luna walked away. She started to cry a little.
"I won't starve, will I?" she thought aloud.
Luna heard a rustle in the bushes. She jumped behind another berry bush, peeking out cautiously between the branches.
A deer burst out, followed by a young gray wolf. It killed the deer. Luna saw his gaze shift from the deer to her pawprints. They led to her bush.
The wolf walked towards her. Luna accidentally let out a squeak of fear. Don't kill me! Don't eat me! These thoughts filled her panicked mind.
"Don't worry, pup." the gray wolf said. He was much older than her, but he was still a pup, not full grown yet.
Luna squeaked again, looking into the gray wolf's eyes in terror.
