    Dr. Jason Sanders:

“Let's see here... Day 124, since the first subject was brought into the facility. Since then test subject Zero has started to decompose. The Subject Zero has had no outside contact since brought in. On record we estimate that 2 persons are infected per hour.” He paused as he picked up his coffee and took a sip. Cold. He made a face. He hated cold coffee. He picked back up the tape recorder and resumed taking notes.
“We have taken 26 subjects since Subject Zero's first signs of a radical new disease that is spreading at an alarming rate, we believe by birds, and insects as well as through fecal matter by some small mammals. Zero's condition was critical and then she flat lined on the table, but miraculously, her heart started to show signs of life again, but her pulse was beyond normal functions and was pumping as if she was running a marathon. Fortunately for us she was restrained as she then began a fury of thrashing and screams. They were not human in nature at all.. Very primal, animal like screams. The physicians and nurses were trying to restrain her, to give her a sedative, when Zero lashed out and scratched Nurse Jane Abbothy, rendering her Subject One. The room was cleared eventually and as I speak I am currently viewing Subject Zero's “Cell”. Her hair is falling out. Skin has paled. Her eyes have frosted over, I don't know if she can even see... perhaps partial or full blindness.”

“The heart rate monitor still attached shows that her heart has significantly slowed down almost to 10 bpm. All other test subjects are entering the same phases as Zero in the exact same amount of time, With in hours after the heart stops, it will start again, in an extreme pulse rate, we call this stage the “Fury” stage, because of the subjects anger, and extreme behavior. Then after about 5 days the fury stage saturates and the heart rate slows, hence the terminology for “Slow” stage. The slow stage lasts for a long time, eventually ending where Zero is now at the Final stage, where the body has fully succumbed to death and dies again.”

He stopped his recording looking down into the room where subject Zero lay. Her head slowly turning around the room, where her glazed eyes looked at the Doctor as she hissed quietly as the air from her lungs escaped as her body died for the second time. The Doctor reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a flask which contained some honey whiskey, taking a swig he sighed.

“The time we assume will vary from 120 to 130 days since first death to second death. With other experiments implemented on the other 26 subjects excluding Zero, we have concluded, they thirst for human blood as their heart is no longer pumping self preserving cells, it requires the intake of new cells to make the body function as well as protein and other substances. We have tried other mammals, and birds blood. They will accept it, but will not ravage it like it does with human tissue. We-”

    “Doctor Sanders?” A woman called.

Pausing his recording and looking to see his receptionist Clara looking at him with a fake smile.
“ Sir, the press conference is about to start in the lobby.”

Doctor Sanders stood up from his chair and walked over to Clara, giving her a fake smile back, “I'm prepared, Clara thank you.” He walked past her dropping his false facial emotion and walked the rest of the way to the lobby with a face that resembled that of a someone who just watched their puppy die.
