• The explosion shattered glass for about a block in every direction. Fire consumed the pharmacy on the outside corner of the town square. Standing outside the pharmacy was a man in a metal suit that fit tight against his body, and an armored backpack with a dispenser on its bottom. The armored man reached into it and pulled out a sphere the size of his fist with a few inches of fuse poking out its top.
He held his finger straight and a 1 inch torch flame jetted from his fingertip. He lit the fuse and heaved it through the shattered glass double doors of a movie theater across the corner from the pharmacy. The resounding eruption was accompanied with the echo of laughter. The siren of police cars began to approach, an encounter the armored man was more than ready for.
He stood straight as two police cars skidded sideways and the officers jumped out, guns drawn and aimed. One was yelling something, probably to raise his hands, but the roar of the crackling flames drowned him out. To his left and right he heard more cars skid to a halt.
He reached over and lifted a flap on the forearm of his suit and there was a single switch. The cop yelled something again, and he flipped it. Each of the cop vehicles suddenly lit up the intersection in a rain of flammible liquid and shards of metal. The officers never stood a chance, most didn't even have time to scream. The shockwave sent the armored man onto his back with a thud. Even as his body was hot, uncomfortable, and bruised, he laughed harder than he ever had in his life. For minutes he simply lay there barking laughter into the sky.
Groggily he returned to his feet. When the first bomb exploded, people screamed and ran, now the growling infenoes where the only sound. By now, his fires had spread, setting most of 3 blocks in a blaze. Two firetrucks sprayed a bank at the end of the road. Not far, at the police station, the rest of the vehicles had ignited as well and smoke was visible.
'My work here is done' he thought to himself, and began walking away. He was eager to free himself from the stuffy, warm suit.
