• CHAPTER ONE

    ~Miyu's Perspective~

Everyone thought that Miyu was an ordinary high school student who had friends, tried to keep her grades up, and stuff like that but truly, she kept the true her deep inside. She had been a fan of arts and literature, always coming up with story plots and characters with just her imagination and a bit of help from a book she read or a show she watched. No one really saw that person because Miyu always tried to keep hiding things, always giving the same people a fake smile or something like that. And the thing she loved the most about herself she hid as well, and that was her dreams.

Every night when she went to bed, Miyu could picture one of her favorite characters she had made though she couldn't come up with a name for him. He had shaggy black, a scarred eye that was covered with an eye patch, an ocean blue eye that was visible, and pale, almost white skin. He had piercings on one of his ears and wore a private school uniform and usually was listening to music. Miyu adored how handsome he looked, almost wanting him to be real but probably would never happen. She based him to the age of sixteen, around her age in fact, and had his hobbies to be sketching and hunting [which practically explains his eye]. The thing she loved most of all was his personality. He was a troublemaker, always trying to do some stunt that would have him end up in detention and had to go to counseling though none of it worked. Adding on to this, he was pessimistic about the world, always thinking that it would end up wasted away by humanity. Somehow, Miyu was attracted to this which had made him her favorite.

    ~Kurai's Perspective~

To almost everyone in the school, Kurai was basically a king in a sense. A few of his friends and he would muster up some trouble in any class or hallway, maybe putting up a fight with the captain of the basketball team or spraying graffiti up on the side of the school. It was his fun in the world but when he wasn't doing this, Kurai would sketch something in the sakura tree in the middle of the school's courtyard. He would always draw the same thing over and over again, a girl with long dark brown hair.

Kurai had thought of her multiple times during class or hanging out with his friends, daydreaming on how she would act. In his past time, he would draw what he saw her doing that day, maybe sitting alone in her bedroom or reading a book in class. If he had time to spare, he would color her on how she looked, with her uncombed dark brown hair, ruby red eyes, and mild apricot skin. Kurai thought she was beautiful even though he felt that she wasn't real yet she was the only girl he could possibly love. When he thought of her, he could see her at school herself, studying something for a test or hanging out with her friends in a cafeteria. They were so different and Kurai was aware of it though he wished he could at least get a glimpse of her in real life.

    ~Present Day~

It was at least a month into the school year and Miyu had heard that a new student was transferring to her school and maybe be in a few of her classes. She was a bit curious on how the new student would act in the school since a few of her friends said that he would be a bit of a troublemaker. Those words had kept on making her think of him but she would always push that thought to the back of her head.

During the beginning of her third period which was biology, everyone was chatting with excitement since they had heard the new student would be in this class then. A few of the girls were planning on asking him if they could be his partner for that class. Miyu rolled her eyes at them knowing that he would probably say no and headed over to the only close friend she had in this class, Nyoko. "So many girls are squealing at the fact that we're getting a male student in this period of biology." Nyoko nodded in agreement and crossed her arms, sending out a few cold glares at the other girls who were chatting in the corner. She looked back at Miyu and sighed deeply, shaking her head. "We better sit down now. Class is about to start."

Miyu nodded slightly and sat down in a chair in front of the table in the middle of the room next to Nyoko and an empty seat, placing her text books and pens in front of her then opened up her sketch book and picked up one of her pens and began to draw. After at least ten minutes, the teacher walked in with Kurai who was staring out at the class examining everyone until his eyes hit Miyu sitting there, drawing in the midst of chatter. He stared at her in disbelief and kept himself from blushing yet snapped out of it when the teacher began to speak. "I'd like you all to meet our new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?"

Once the teacher spoke, Miyu raised her head and looked at Kurai with a slightly shocked expression and looked away from him, blushing mildly. Nyoko noticed that she was blushing and leaned over toward her then whispered something. "Do you know him or something?" Miyu looked up and shook her head unhesitatingly, trying to cover up what she was thinking as Kurai began to speak in introduction. "Hello, my name is Kurai Yamasaki. I'll be one of your fellow classmates and I hope to make a few friends here." He bowed slightly afterward as the teacher told him to sit wherever he wished to as long as it was an empty spot. He shuffled his way across the classroom toward the seat that was behind Miyu then sat himself down while setting his books and backpack down beside him. As he did so, the teacher began to lecture on animal anatomy and informed the class that they would be dissecting frogs the next week.
