The lunatic is on the grass, the lunatic is on the grass. Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs. Got to keep the loonies on the path. The lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall. The paper holds their folded faces to the floor. And every day the paper boy brings more.
Run rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun. And when at last the work is done, don't sit down it's time to dig another one. For long you live and high you fly. But only if you ride the tide. And balanced on the biggest wave,
you race towards
an early grave.
The time is gone the song is over,
thought I'd something
more to say.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon. And if there is no room upon the hill. And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. The lunatic is in my head, the lunatic is in my head. You raise the blade, you make the change. You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane.
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts, hot ashes for trees, hot air for a cool breeze, cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earthbound misfit, I. Ice is forming on the tips of my wings. Unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything. No navigator to guide my way home. Unladened, empty and turned to stone. A soul in tension that's learning to fly. Condition grounded but determined to try.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail, a smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell?
Can't keep my mind from the circling sky.
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earthbound misfit, I.
If you're going to judge me...
Because of my gender.
Because of my clothes.
Because of my race.
Because of my beliefs...
Then go ahead.
I'd rather be hated for something I am than loved for something I'm not.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day. You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town. Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
Can't keep my eyes from the circling sky. Tongue-tied and twisted just an earthbound misfit, I. Above the planet on a wing and a prayer. My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air. Across the clouds I see my shadow fly out of the corner of my watering eye. A dream unthreatened by the morning light could blow this soul right through the roof of the night. There's no sensation to compare with this. Suspended animation, a state of bliss.
Into the distance, a ribbon of black. Stretched to the point of no turning back. A flight of fancy on a windswept field. Standing alone my senses reeled. A fatal attraction holding me fast. How can I escape this irresistable grasp? Can't keep my eyes from the circling sky.
You lock the door and throw away the key. There's someone in my head but it's not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear. You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes,
I'll see you on
the dark side of the moon.

- Very well written. I like how you rhymed some lines. That is extremely hard to do without making complete nonsense. Nicely done.
