• The Battle of Wrongs

If I could right my wrongs
If I could change my past
    Would it even matter?
    I know it wouldn’t last

    We argue and we fight
    Lashing out at every turn
We say things out of spite
We get burned and then we learn

    We stay because it’s easy
There’s a routine to our abuse
We dance like marionettes on strings
Broken dolls that have been used

    And when it’s over
    What can you say?
    You look at devastated faces
And realize for every word there was a price to pay

    You can’t say sorry
    The damage is done
    The words have been spoken
And the battle continues, never lost but never won
