Garden of…
January 21, 2009
I breath into the air
Finding no comfort in the sun
I lie in the dew-soaked blades of green
A meadow of guilt and regret hath grown around my soul
As the blades reach higher, they cover me
Forever growing and blocking out the sun
Shielding me from discomfort
Drowning in nature’s beauty
Showing no displeasure nor thirst for knowledge
Reaching for the star
Such a distant dream
Yet all I see is green
Nature’s grasp
Shielding me
The moist warm earth embraces me
Submissive, passive, I give in
Into the earth
I hath been swallowed
My tears water the grave that nature hath built upon me
No more tears
No more regrets
No more worries
No more being
The time awaits
The time is now
Emerging from the earth not as a being
But as an embodiment
Of hope
Of enlightenment
One with nothing
Embracing the heavens
As I grow
Towards the sun, space, and beyond

Description:
This is a poem that I wrote in 10 minutes. (I had to get to my class before I was late)
Anyway, this poem has no stanza form nor any rhyme scheme.
The meaning of this poem relates to rebirth, enlightenment, and the connection between humans and nature.
The title "Garden of..." was intentional.
Being one with nothing is quite a strong statement because you are one with...
You can interpret this poem anyway you like. It is heavily based on the philosophical theme of existence. - Date: 01/24/2009
