• the water is as still as glass
the creatures look as we pass
    mice scurry, snakes slide
    owls fly, foxes hide
the apple trees are in bloom
as darkness creeps dressed in gloom

my mother calls to go insede
father and i try to hide
but mother sees us she always does
ill go inside but ill make a fuss

    spring's music reaches m ears
as i slip into bed an owl peers
through my window to look at me
ill see it tomorrow so i let it be
the forest creatures rest their heads
as i lay dreaming sweet in my own little bed
Oh, how i love these spring nights
