LOOKING FOR EAGLES
To her
almost any bird
could be an eagle.
I don’t even look.
One day while riding
she saw three eagles
and wondered
whether the fourth
a blackbird
was one.
My laugh
said she was crazy.
She said it could be
that I didn’t even look;
just maybe it was.
How can one
see an eagle
if one never
watches the sky?
She is all I need to see.
You see
she is an eagle
to me.

- It's a bit jagged - it needs cleaning up. But I like it - short and sweet.
